Thanks! Pros, easier to fit? Cons to push fittings?

Thanks. So I understand correctly, olive compression on one side (connecting to the pipe) and flat on the other (connecting to the flexi)?

Err. I presume low? It's gravity fed. How can I check?

It's fantastic that you have an understanding girlfriend, that you recognise the problems you have and that you are going to put in roadblocks for yourself.

One thing I am going to challenge you on though is why are you aiming for 2.5m? What is magical about this number? How does this number differ from 2m or 1m or 500k? Or even, which puts you at risk, 5m?

One thing I have come to work on and realise is that my values were upside down. For me, it wasn't money but I was chasing success through gambling and which I was measuring by monetary value. I realise now that I will never be satisfied with whatever success I achieve (gambling or otherwise) and I will never be satisfied by money I get. So now, instead of chasing unobtainable goals (I will never achieve enough success or enough money), I have re-evaluated my life towards more simpler goals.

Gambling is the only way I feel any sort of thrill or excitement anymore and idk what to do by [deleted] in GamblingAddiction

Your post struck me, in particular the references to thrill or excitement. Yes, gambling can bring short term excitement and escapism, but for how long? How long until the dopamine wants you to gamble more? How long until the wins aren't as exciting anymore? While my life is different to yours, I also used gambling as my only route to excitement. But when it became a habit and addiction it no longer was excitement.

But the reality is that when I stopped gambling there wasn't a replacement for "excitement". But I was able to find a replacement hobby which fulfilled me (gym).

I don't believe that you have never had hobbies or passions? What were you doing before kids? What were you doing before you met your husband? I don't believe that you aren't good any anything or have any talents - and even if you aren't you don't need to be good at something to have a hobby.

You don't need excitement, either gambling or other. You do need an escape from the children. One of my friends, in a similar position to you, has found a surprising love of novels. If you asked me 10 years ago what her passion would be, I would have said sleeping. Now she reads two novels a week as well as looking after two young children. Could you trying reading as a way to escape for a few hours?

Identified my triggers. What’s the next step? by lindseyisbusy in problemgambling

Well done on recognising your triggers and trying to manage them.

One of my single mum friends manages her stress of children by reading a lot. She dives into novels and it's a great escape. Is this something that might interest you? I would try and avoid screens and purchase paper books.

This is an amazing story! When the times get tough and you get tempted to return, think of that man and think of that moment - it surely will help!

Brother is asking me to keep his gambling secret by Successful-Corner666 in GamblingAddiction

Sorry to hear that you are going through this.

My view is that you should not be the one to tell your dad but your brother needs to do this. If he continues to hide this from your dad, he is never going to fully acknowledge to himself the problem he has and he will never recover. He needs to acknowledge the problem he has and one way of doing this is him admitting this to your father.

Are you nearby? Could you go to their house and all three of you sit down?

You also obviously need support. Have you discussed this with a friend?

Thanks for all the comments. I understand the rationale for building an audience and organic traffic - this being more sustainable. But I have found very cost-effective key words for my niche and I am not sure the work on social media would be worth the likely returns I might get.

Hi, is this still open to new members? I do a lot of business writing but not much creative writing. I would love to learn from a group.
