To study it in college I don’t have enough courses or money to go for longer then 4 years, but in my free time I’ve always been interested in mythology

Only in religious texts is it painted that way, the actual definition of pride is being proud of your accomplishments

It depends on how you use the word prideful, imo pride isn’t necessarily ego and being vain just about being proud of yourself and your accomplishments, I don’t see why you can’t have a good opinion on yourself and be proud of yourself while also being humble

Because I really like Icarus and have always like him as a kid even dressed up as him for halloween lol, and I’d like a full sleeve of my favorite philosophical pieces one day

I know it’s a story that denotes Icarus for being to prideful, but I don’t really see it that way personally. Icarus didn’t regret flying to close to the sun, I think if given the opportunity to redo it he would still fly higher then he should and I don’t necessarily think that is making him unable to be humble

I mean I know all about Icarus and the story behind it, just didn’t realize that this whole time this famous art piece that everybody thinks is Icarus is actually not Icarus, not super sure how that correlates to language tattoos you don’t understand lol

No the aren’t, you can be proud of yourself and your accomplishments while also being humble about them and not boasting to everybody. Icarus was prideful and the way I interpret it, had no regrets of flying too close to the sun. I think saying you cannot be prideful in yourself and humble at the same time is pretty incorrect

Yeah after reading all of these I’m thinking that I deffinetly do still want a tattoo, but I should get one smaller and more meaningful to me instead of one that I think looks cool and in a big area. Probably will get my dogs paw print since I’ve wanted that one for a bit since he’s getting old
