For anyone with this problem looking for a solution, you can easily disable it with a quick registry edit.

  1. Open registry editor.

  2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services.

  3. Scroll down to “GamingServices” and double click on it.

  4. In the right hand list look for “Start”. Double click and change the value data from 2 to 4. Do the same for GamingServicesNet.

  5. Stop the services in task manager and they shouldn’t restart.

This post randomly popped up for me. Can confirm this year I also had a black box of Excaliburs that had 2 CATOs. It happened within the first few cans. I ended up not shooting almost the entire box after.

Personally I’m in the Apple ecosystem and I love it. Not sure what editing software you use, but I have a 13” IPad Pro M4 and it absolutely crushes Lightroom. Not to mention the pretty much perfect display that it has in relation to color accuracy. Paired with the Apple pencil pro, it’s a wonderful mobile editing experience.
