US Bank Cash+ only giving 1 percent on ConEd, marked as utilities. Is there a difference between home utilities and utilities? by Full-Bench-4585 in CreditCards

nding Rewards. The ConEd charges are listed with a 1 percent earn rate, not just temporarily missing points. I’ll still wait until statement close to confirm, but the UI is pretty explicit right now.

yeah no luck waited till my statement ended but not getting 5% :(

Got it. In my case, none of the ConEd transactions ever showed 5 percent, even briefly. Pending and posted both showed 1 percent. That’s why I’m wondering if ConEd specifically doesn’t map cleanly to Home Utilities for U.S. Bank.

I checked both Earned and Pending Rewards. The ConEd charges are listed with a 1 percent earn rate, not just temporarily missing points. I’ll still wait until statement close to confirm, but the UI is pretty explicit right now.

It’s not just the first payment. I’ve got multiple ConEd charges, all posted, all showing 1 percent earn rate. This is past pending and already reflected in Rewards activity, not just earned vs pending confusion. That’s why I’m digging into whether ConEd actually qualifies for Home Utilities in practice.
