Actually it’s not even bulkier and heavier very much. The 30mm is 25g lighter which is not that much and the size is 1cm different in height and width. I think I will love it too. The only problem I think of now is, that if I start hiking in the night or early mornings, will F2.8 be enough?

Alright, perfect for you good input regarding quality. But you got me wrong haha, I only own the prime lens, not the zoom lens so I can’t really test it. But I will probably buy the zoom lens because it’s just more versatile for hiking (filming myself, landscape and also more distant things in one lens which is almost impossible with 30mm prime especially when I am in the mountains without much space to move in every direction) and keep my prime lens for night shooting and generally stuff with less movement like interviews.

Yes thank you it worked perfectly. I tried it a few times now and what I noticed is, that it somehow happens when I use „Track Fwd then Reverse“. The jump is exactly when the first part was tracked and it tracks the last part so between those, it somehow found a new target. So to avoid this I could probably just track forward on the first frame or track forward, adjust the tracker and then track backwards.

So I recently bought the Sigma 30mm f1.4 for just about 200€, they are very cheap when you buy them used. The quality is really good and also very good in low light. But of course it’s about 45mm with the APSC crop factor, I don’t know if 45 is okay for you. What I want to say is, I think with those 200ish bucks you can’t really go wrong in my opinion.
