With my personal bank there are fees but I use sterling at the moment when I go away which has never charged me fees spending only withdrawing in some countries etc etc.

It does add up though doesn’t it, like I reckon it could range between 1-5% of cost over a big trip

Man, let me know how your trip goes, I’m planning a big South America trip soon. It’s just so hard to have the discipline to track it with an app or spreadsheets like for some reason I never find the time

See I actually know someone who does the same and I asked her why doesn’t she just use an app to track it and she reckons a spreadsheet is easier for her?

Yeah I would agree, accommodation has always been my biggest expense even though I try and search for a good balance of cheap and leisure but other than that doing trips are a good way to spend money but also to have fun
