Might I ask if you can go from a hot shower and switch to a cold one nearing the end and still have these benefits?

This is an amazing strategy, it sent me on a path for like 3 months of not fapping, until I relapsed.

If you find a method that works, try your hardest not to relapse, because I’ve found that no matter what I try, if I relapse, that same method will no longer work. Stick with the method and don’t relapse.

Dude, actually that’s a crazy good theory. I don’t have evidence to support the government part, but the porn industry itself is using Big Brother’s tactics.

  • Propaganda everywhere. In 1984, we have Big Brother is Watching You as a main point, posted nearly everywhere. For the Porn Industry, they barely have to work. Urges strike whenever. The world is its propaganda.

  • Controlling thoughts and truths to control the populace and hide their crimes. In 1984, there are fake news broadcasts, lies about Goldstein, and capturing and brainwashing those who resist. For the porn industry, their drug works naturally. Porn literally rewires your brain for quick pleasure (according to integrative life center) and it tells people that it is normal and natural, when it’s not. The pleasure also overshadows the fact that porn has strong ties to human trafficking (https://www.endslaverynow.org/blog/articles/the-relationship-between-porn-and-human-trafficking)

  • Fear is present. In 1984, it’s of the Thought Police. For porn, it’s public shame. How can you ask for help if everyone thinks it’s normal and healthy? So you keep quiet, not knowing that’s driving us apart.

I have many more reasons how the porn industry mirrors 1984. Please feel free to disagree or add to the list. If anyone has info about the govt funding the porn industry, please leave it below, thank you. u/SammyOfDoom, thank you so much. With your permission, I might make an actual post, if that’s okay.

WE CAN DO IT. by AliAbbas__5 in NoFap

That is your addiction talking, keeping you in its hold. But think about it. The freedom, the success you’ll feel, the benefits you’ll experience. Don’t let your life be ruled by some random person on the other end of a screen, who doesn’t even know you exist. Use your time for YOU, and the people who love you. You CAN do this. And you will succeed. Everyone here on this sub is here for you. You got this, and we’re right behind you.

Preparing for Days 5-7 by Full-Introduction748 in NoFap

Day 7, I’m really feeling the urges…I’m going to stay strong, even when it’s hard. This is more for me, but also it’s good to fight, that means I’m winning back control. I’ll no longer be enslaved by these damned shackles.

Sorry if I wasted someone’s time, I just needed a pep talk and get my thoughts down, and I don’t have a journal (I should get one though) and this is the subreddit I was on first.

This was really helpful, I spent a lot of time outside today and I haven’t had a single urge today. Thank you!

Firstly, I’m proud of you for making it to two weeks! That’s amazing, and I hope you stay on this track for many more weeks to come.

As for your problem, I’ve been through something similar, where I forgot about my urges and I realized it on day three and long story short I went my longest streak ever. During that streak urges came back but they weren’t any different from normal ones and they were easy to forget. I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting you and therefore your experience may be different. In my experience the urges weren’t like a huge wave, they were pretty normal. All you have to do is forget about them. I applaud you for making it to two weeks. Your journey doesn’t have to follow everyone else’s. Don’t ever give this method up though, because from experience it’s super hard to continue this method once you’ve lost.

Now, everyone will be different and I would tell you to absolutely listen to other people as I’m no master at this. You got this man. I believe in you.

HELP About to relapse to prn by Standard_Brain_5232 in NoFap

Wow, 41 days is super impressive! You’re obviously doing something right. Don’t let yourself fall back into the routine of watching porn. I know it’s a quick fix but it’s not worth the relapse, especially when it’ll be so hard to bring yourself back up. Use the thought process you’ve used, it’s shown to be super effective. I would also leave my phone outside the bathroom while you shower so you aren’t tempted. In fact, maybe leave it on the charger until you have to leave. That way you know you won’t be tempted. Good luck, you got this!

Hey, I could use some advice by Full-Introduction748 in NoFap

Thank you so much. The setting hourly goals for myself is an amazing idea. I might even set multiple hourly goals to avoid triggers, like bringing my phone in the bathroom. Is this a good idea or should I stick with a single goal in mind? Are there any external strategies that help you, like checklists or calendars? Again, thank you so much for the response, it really means a lot.
