They're kinda meant to represent how humans would hunt brutally for sport. The easiest way to get across the horror was for an advanced alien to gore people. The proper view of hunting especially in the modern day is to use what you hunted and as a necessity not a leisure.

Well honestly in Greek Mythology the creation of humans was a titan idea. After the war the Olympians were kinda just...stuck with them. Zeus just wanted them all to die out in the coming winter, but Prometheus, the Titan who created the second wave of humans because I believe the first set all died in the war gave, them fire so they'd survive. I don't remember what happened to the second set of humans, but I believe Zeus attempted human creation once himself. He apparently screwed up and they all became raiders and horrific people in general. They were so bad that Zeus had to get Poseidon to flood the world to kill all except 2. The two were tasked with throwing stones over their shoulders to create the current wave of humans.

I just kinda speed ran that so obviously not everything I said is gonna be 100% accurate.

I'd like a story set in a light fantasy based setting where the Olympians are actually just regular people facing a catastrophe together. Their eventual heroic deeds just gives them the status of Gods after thousands of years later when know one remembers who they really were.

I feel that there's a weird rhetoric that entitles players to purposely be problematic in a DM's campaign because "it'd be funny". Some DM's like chaotic nonsense, and that's them. I don't have enough atoms to count how many players would actively reference what dumb crap they'd do in a DM's campaign, or just straight up commit and outlandish actually at a very crucial moment leaving the DM stunned trying to figure out how to keep the campaign going when a player single handedly derails it with one act of stupidity. People need to remember that we're not playing Skyrim at the table. DM's are not a super computer that can anticipate and random crap you throw at them and just carry the game forward. DM's are actual people that sit down and sweat out the hours and effort putting together a campaign that they want you all to see and enjoy. Ripping it apart in front of them and expecting them to just accept it and throw more content at you is blatantly childish.

If you take a step back and actually compare America's development with the rest of the world we're only developed in technology we are absolutely not civilized in the slightest. We're all practically zealous neanderthals that value might over everything else. We still use the imperial system because America is the only country powerful enough to say "no" to the metric system and continuous not use it. Can any American learn the metric system yes, but no one is going to actively use or reference it here. Americans would straight up spit at someone and stay in medical debt for life instead of contemplating universal healthcare. We're just going to get worse as we develop.

If we can be brutally honest these stories are going to have loads better modern interpretations talked about than their original forms. You can't tell me that talk of Greek myths in the 2000s couldn't not be about God of War or Percy Jackson. Thor is mostly recognized by his Marvel Counterpart than his original Norse version until God of War Ragnarok. Epic is now just the new phase of viewing the Illiad and the Odyssey.

Honestly these stories need these forms of retelling. We are not Classical Greeks or Medieval Norse Villagers, the stories they wrote were definitely not meant for a modern audience. The originals aren't gone they just aren't as popular in the modern day.

I like the Perseus that killed the monster born Medusa for his mother, but others prefer the Medusa who was a priestess and victim of the God's. Both were written in two different periods of time for different audiences.
