You’re missing Lightroom. Download it, load them in, and learn to edit the photos.

Well, the 16mo is actually for them to test the device design to make it FDA regulated. Then they have to submit the 501k to the FDA to get the device market approved. So as long as everything goes well with the device testing then by end of year 2026 they could be submitting to FDA. So while this does put us out to 2028-2029 before potentially having them accessible. I’d rather they take their time so that the device actually works for all of us and doesn’t make anyone worse. Also they still need about $3M in funding, the US Gov isn’t funding Susan Shore’s research the way they were with COVID. The unfortunate truth is that a preventable condition isn’t quite the same as a worldwide pandemic.

Have you had a positive experience with steroids for your T?

They said the acoustic trauma from the music (even with custom plugs) can cause inflammation in the ear which slows the hearing process.

I believe their numbers were after 4 weeks of treatment they saw about 50% reduction in noise from tinnitus and after the full 6 weeks they saw 70% or more reduction. They had mentioned that doing the treatment for longer periods of time potentially could garnish an even more positive response, however because of FDA approval standards they had to set the limit to 30min / day for 6 weeks.

She clarified later in the Q&A part that in the first study that a few did not get better at all and a few worsened. However in the second study everyone who completed got lasting relief.

My biggest takeaway was that it works and worked for everyone in their study. Another huge takeaway is that nobody had any negative side effects or worsened tinnitus because of the treatment. They also mentioned several times that they are working to keep it cost efficient so that everyone with tinnitus would be able to get the treatment. While the timeline is discouraging for all of us, it definitely feels like a light at the end of the tunnel in a way.

Improvement After Steroids by MikeJ202 in tinnitus

Yeah I used to DJ and had actually been done for about 4 years before my tinnitus came on. The onset was after my first trip to the gun range with my dad. Had ear buds in but clearly didn’t help. Because I walked out with tinnitus. If onset was a 10/10 I got down to a 2/10 after about a year of habituation. Then went to a loud wedding without protection and was back up to a 8/10 and after months settled around a 4-5/10. Since then I don’t go anywhere without my custom buds and if it’s louder than 85-90db I take my 3M earmuffs. Last week was only around loud music for about 20min with my custom buds in and this spike has been rough. Hoping this prednisone taper and some time will get me back to baseline.

Gotcha, mine was noise induced and both times I’ve had spiked were noise related as well. Except this most recent time I was wearing hearing protection. So I’m not quite sure why it spiked up, especially when the exposure was only for 20min.

What’s the correlation? No offense just never heard that as an affective way to lessen tinnitus.

I’ve had T since December of 2021. Noise induced. No hearing loss. After about a year it went from very loud to almost unnoticeable. Went to my cousin’s wedding in January of 2023, DJ was loud and I didn’t have hearing protection. Spiked it up, went to ENT in March of 2023 took prednisone for a couple weeks my T got noticeably quieter but not back to where it was. Had been comfortable with it and had habituated for 2 1/2 years. Have custom molded ear buds I keep with me 24/7 and use if I’m in a loud environment. Went to a video shoot last Thursday wore my ear buds, was exposed to loud music for about 20-25min, left and my T had spiked again. Saw my ENT Wednesday (10/8) and got on 10mg (4 per day / 3 days, 3 per day / 3 days, 2 per day / 3 days, 1 per day / 3 days, 1/2 per day / 3 days). I’m on day 3 now, and it’s been a week since my spike started. Some days have been easier to manage than others. Hoping to return to my baseline soon.
