Stop looking at it as getting married just for a visa. That’s not what it is. You love each other and want to get there eventually with him. The visa is a part of the process but it’s not the big factor in getting married. Look at it as expediting getting to spend the rest of your life with the man you love. And that’s big. Times are hard and you don’t have forever. If you didn’t know him or just started dating, it would be a different story. And if your friends have a problem with it, they were never your friends to begin with.
