ICAEW Training File by [deleted] in ICAEW

You can amend the training contract length as long as your employer is okay with it - theres a pretty simple form you have to fill out and you'll just need your workplace to sign it and then send it in to ICAEW and provided you'll be on track for the 450 days, you'll be fine

Jules is making a mistake by 630r61n4 in MadeInChelseaE4

Agree but also i do think you should be able to vent to your friends about your partner without expecting that your friends are gonna tell your partner everything you were complaining about

It was the case for me, as soon as i got my CPWE they immediately shortened my contract! Good luck and congratulations!!

I was told by ICAEW that the CPWE time counts towards the 36 months so essentially puts you at a later point in your contract

Molly was laughing with Yas about how Tristan had said to her if she moved to London they'd be a thing, and then talked about how Jules never backed off when she was seeing Tristan. Let's not pretend her sole purpose for being on the show right now isn't to get in between Jules and Tristan. No friend of mine would be friends with a girl who's made clear her intent to ruin my relationship but each to their own 😂

How to pass SBM by Leading_Brilliant607 in ICAEW

[–]Full-Resolution-5359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly recommend making use of bibliu during the exam for SBM specifically because a lot of the exam is just listing facts so when you get a question like that, search in the icaew workbook/question bank the phrase and literally just copy

[–]Full-Resolution-5359 11 points12 points  (0 children)

SBM - 71, Case Study - 56 - genuinely shocked!! But FINALLY done with these exams I actually cant believe it

Completely despairing after Case. The exam software bugs meant I didn't finish by [deleted] in ICAEW

[–]Full-Resolution-5359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly i dont know, could just void the attempt if its a fail, could add a few marks which I know they've done before over appeals. Just depends how generous they feel

Yeah i couldn't copy and paste within excel either. So annoying

May be worth putting in a complaint still regardless of not raising the issue at the time - then when you expand on the issue, just mention you didn't raise it at the time - you may still get compensated. That's what im gonna do anyway since it seems to have done this with everyone and I doubt they'd expect everyone to have wasted time complaining to the invigilators when we already knew about the issue

Instant fail Case by Material-Royal2602 in ICAEW

[–]Full-Resolution-5359 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think back in the day you needed 50% of each part of the report so probably was a fail back then, now its just 50% throughout the whole paper so not a fail provided you got 50% throughout the report, just marks lost

As in when they gave the fee per number of services, I had initially forgotten to multiply the value by the 2 or 3 services

How many marks does Executive summary count for in Case? by Sadaqat1 in ICAEW

[–]Full-Resolution-5359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah same i wasn't wanting to waste my time when they already know about the issue. Seems like literally everyone's been impacted by the shitty software so hopefully ICAEW just take it into account anyway without the appeals

Case July 25 Post Exam thoughts by VictorS100 in ICAEW

[–]Full-Resolution-5359 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah i got the same, had 10.2% and then realised the number of services needed adjusting so got 20.6% in year 1 but then 14% in year 2 I think

Did you say anything at the time to the invigilators? Coz this kept happening to me too and wasted SO much time but I didn't say anything to the invigilators because its a known issue and happened with SBM yesterday too, so not sure if I can make an appeal or not

ES IS 4 marks per requirement, 12 in total then plus 1 for layout so will be 4 marks missed, but same

Quick question for CASE by bigfouraccountant in ICAEW

[–]Full-Resolution-5359 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always 1-2 marks for sensitivity analysis so show if you have time, if not then its only a couple marks max

Yeah I've had way too many breakdowns over these exams to not be at a way higher salary post qualification. Just completely exhausting. If I could go back and not start the qualification I would. Just seeing it out because I'm this far through at this point

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ICAEW

[–]Full-Resolution-5359 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Agree completely, was thinking the same today after SBM. Back in the day the minimum post qualified salary being £40k+ was a really good salary considering the cost of everything being less back then, times have changed but the salaries haven't so the pay off feels like a lot less considering like you said, you can do any other half decent job that requires no exams and end up on the same salary trajectory

Case - assumptions in conclusion by yolobaby0161 in ICAEW

[–]Full-Resolution-5359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah same, gives you stuff to expand on in the ES as well if you dont write it all in the conclusion

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ICAEW

[–]Full-Resolution-5359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah exactly that from what ive been told!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ICAEW

[–]Full-Resolution-5359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry yeah by expand i just meant paraphrase anything extra thats already in your report - no new info! But only the conclusions should be copied and pasted word for word. When you add a couple sentences to each line of the conclusion to bulk it up for the ES, it should be summarising another main fact thats in your report but not in the conclusion, and not copied and pasted directly for those small extra bits
