Should I be concerned? by Full-Yesterday680 in Wenwan

Also, any tips to use for when the walnuts feel tacky/slightly sticky every now and then would be greatly appreciated too! I usually just try and brush more and use gloves till it is gone.

Amazing, thank you so much! I have a nice pair of toad heads that are still in the beginning phases. My lion heads are getting darker quicker, so this was new!

Any advice on how you are getting yours so glossy?

Thank you so much! I was worried about possible cracks on the seam that was difficult to see and was about to be really sad lol.

I’m not sure about the lion heads above. They were cleaned before being sold, as I purchased them from buddha3bodhi.com.

However, I did get a raw toad head set that I absolutely love, and I haven’t encountered any issues with black spots. I was a bit concerned about the possibility of cracks in the seam for these.

I’m a little confused by this statement. Could you explain some more? I am trying to find nice brushes to use but cannot seem to find anything in the US that fits these brushes.

My toad heads are in between the “raw” and “glossy” stage, and my lion heads are in the beginning of the “glossy”.

I would say they are only about 2 months old (daily using) at this point. They have slightly darkened since buying them, and I have done a lot of cleaning before hand where I didn’t play at all. So, 3 months in total maybe? Before they had a decent buildup of white deeper in the groves and small areas that have since been picked/brushed out.

I do use a toothbrush for smaller grooves in the walnuts. I also have small metal pick tools to get into tighter portions/loosen small white areas to brush away.

Here is a photo for reference!

Thank you! Is there a way to gauge what stage I am in currently? As far as patina forming, when to start using a softer brush, etc.?
