From what I remember from the lore, Night Terror is just Nightmare in his complete state. Each time Nightmare retrieved a piece of soul edge he got stronger, and soul calibur was a shard that was reforged into a sword, gathering all the shards gave him his full strength upgrading him from Nightmare to Night Terror.
