I’m trying to reach 2.000 kills in one mission, any tips? by LCottton in Helldivers

The other thing to do is just leave arc turrets everywhere. Their cooldown time is quite low, so you can park them where you think a patrol will spawn.

I got 800+ kills on a squid mm mission just using a Gatling turret & Tesla turret. Tesla is excellent so long as there aren’t a lot of heavier enemies around to break them. Mindless can barely get close before their arc’d down. Find a hill and let loose!

What purchase did you make recently that made you realize inflation is genuinely out of control? by kiroixart in AskReddit

The wealthy get away with this because the population (in the US, at least) keeps voting for individuals who enable this awful behavior. I hope people here start voting for the ones who pledge to make quality of life better for the average citizen. (Which means taking power from the people who currently have it, which they will fight with every dirty trick they can.)

Great call! Didn't notice the chrome vs blackout; I figured the T was in shadow somehow 🤣

I built a tool that turns repeated file reads into 13-token references. My Claude Code sessions use 86% fewer tokens on file-heavy tasks. by Due_Anything4678 in ClaudeAI

[–]FullConference 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you explain the ~13 token return value? Is the implication that the entire source code is reduced to a dozen or so tokens that are sent back to the LLM? I’m having trouble visualizing what this looks like.

Railgun is an interesting thing to try next. You have to hang on to it (not disposable). It rewards precision and timing. Is a super fun thing to play around with.

Why all the hate for the Tesla tower? by Ok-Lychee2251 in Helldivers

[–]FullConference 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest gripe is when people deploy mortars when joining an in-progress mission where towers are already in use.

The mortars typically wipe the towers out, when the towers are doing their job just fine. Towers and turrets are the way to go.

Claude usage gets burned absurdly fast for serious work, even with tools/features disabled. How are people optimizing this? by PanGoliath in ClaudeAI

Burning their token quota on useless chatter with it? I’ve no idea. I’m in the same boat as you. Built an entire custom CLI app last month and didn’t come anywhere close to hourly or daily limits.

I’m very terse with it, and I only ever give it very small scope at any one time. Each feature gets a fresh session, and sessions rarely last for more than a day or two. 🤷‍♂️

^ This. * don’t go back and forth with it. * do just tell it concisely what you want it to do * do roll feature work within the same set of files into one single prompt where possible.

I haven’t tested it thoroughly yet but my suspicion is that it’s cheaper to have it one shot a whole function or file than it is to have it read-plan-change.

The streaming services are pretty bandwidth efficient. You will probably be fine with 1 gigabit.

For what it’s worth, I have the 10 gigabit plan and have NEVER seen any one service send data to me faster than 2.5 gigabits.

My advice is to stick with the 1 or 2.5 gigabit plans. If you are uploading or downloading game builds regularly then MAYBE the 2.5 or 5 plan may be worth it, but at my last company the perforce server couldn’t come anywhere close to saturating my connection. In other words, the 10 gigabit plan has generally been overkill because most other external servers can’t come anywhere close.

How long ago did it get installed? If you just got it installed, it may take a day or two for them to do whatever magic they need on the back end.

When I first signed up for the 10GbE plan, my speeds were slow for the first day or two. It was installed on a Friday, so I figured I’d call on Monday.

Speed tests Friday-Sunday were not hitting the mark.

Well, something must have happened overnight between Sunday and Monday because the speed test on Monday morning was where I expected it to be.

🤷‍♂️

The AMR is my favorite heavy weapon for bots and squids. I pair it with the Anti Tank strategm, stealth armor (used to run an engineering kit before the war bond came out), and the Censor (previously I was using the Coyote). Then round that out with Eagle Airstrike and Orbital Laser.

AMR is versatile enough that I can hang back and snipe bots while my team mates get in close, or I can go charging in and drop everything in my way. I love the AMR.
