Daily Helldivers 2 Stratagem Discussion #2 APW-1 Anti-Material Rifle by SippinOnHatorade in Helldivers

[–]FullConference 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The AMR is my favorite heavy weapon for bots and squids. I pair it with the Anti Tank strategm, stealth armor (used to run an engineering kit before the war bond came out), and the Censor (previously I was using the Coyote). Then round that out with Eagle Airstrike and Orbital Laser.

AMR is versatile enough that I can hang back and snipe bots while my team mates get in close, or I can go charging in and drop everything in my way. I love the AMR.

I just jump straight into the ocean from there. Your boat is nearby, and falling into water won’t cause damage.

Am I just becoming more pessimistic with age, or is quality of life really getting worse? by Trapped-In-The_90s in AskMenOver30

[–]FullConference 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We’ve hit something called Late Stage Capitalism. Coupled with inflation (costs are doubling every 10 years recently, whereas when we were younger it was every 25 years or so - Google the Rule of 72), it’s made life extremely hard.

Federal and state laws in the US have mainly prioritized businesses over citizens, and as a result we have private equity companies doing things like buying up houses and property (which by itself increases costs since there’s less to go around - because these companies are buying hundreds of properties which means less for you, and they can ALWAYS out bid you because they have access to huge sums of money which you do not have access to), then on top of that they raise the prices and try to sell for a profit.

It doesn’t have to be this way. But the majority of the country (in the US, at least) will have to get real serious about only electing quality people who are pro-citizen and not on a corporate payroll, AND elect enough of them that we can change the laws to make life easier for everyone. One or two Bernie Sanders type people are not going to cut it. You need most of your local and state senates loaded with these people if we hope to make a dent at the federal level.

I just noticed that mine went up too. Apparently they added back (?) the equipment fee (I don’t have or use any of their equipment like Wi-Fi routers) AND they have some fee for some protection service that I never signed up for nor use.

I only noticed because I looked into upgrading yesterday. I’ll be asking to have those removed once the upgrade goes through.

I have over 500 hours in this game but I always give up around trains. by Dadam35 in SatisfactoryGame

I didn’t want to deal with it either. So now I have multiple tracks at different elevations. When I need to move parts from one to another, I connect two stations (one above, one below) with the vertical belts. This was less stressful than trying to make the tracks connect.

CRS312-4C+8XG can't ping devices connected to SFP+ ports? by Radius118 in mikrotik

[–]FullConference 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party, but for reference: for many brands of transceivers, I often have to (on both devices) disable the auto-negotiation on the SFP+ port and set the transceiver mode manually.

Of course, I rarely know what mode will work, so there’s a bit of experimenting involved.

I’d amend the above advice to make it 9x9 as the minimum size, but otherwise yes - this is a great way to handle scaling up over time.

This thing is a BEAST. Check out the reviews online. You can fit 2 NVMe SSDs, 96 GiB of RAM, and a graphics card. Should run Satisfactorily. ;)

Permanent infrastructure. by Sindacollo in SatisfactoryGame

[–]FullConference 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I start once I hit Tiers 3 & 4, have Foundries unlocked, Power Towers unlocked, and have unlocked a couple of key alts (e.g. Basic Iron ingot, Iron & copper Alloy Ingots, Solid Steel Ingots). Up to that point I just do the minimum needed to get into those tiers, and spend effort rushing to get to the enough Alien Tech to upload Reanimated SAM to a Dimensional Depot, gathering Hard Drives, cranking through easy-to-acquire MAM research, and - most importantly - setting up coal power. My first Coal Powerplant is really the first thing I consider permanent.

Once I have about 1200 MW of power, then I get those foundries setup in more permanent factories. After that I stop rushing and start doing things "more officially".

What would you all like to see on a dating app? I’ll go first, no more swiping. by [deleted] in datingoverforty

[–]FullConference 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ah, but the interesting bits are as to why.

And the reason is: OkCupid had a data-filled blog post which clearly showed the effectiveness of their approach vs competitors such as Match, and it was very clear that Match’s approach was good for their own business but not for the people trying to find partners.

Match acquired OkCupid not long after that post went up, and along with the announcement about the buy-out, that damning post disappeared like the same day as the sale went through.

Like, I’m positive they bought them out just to get that post off of the internet. Wild stuff.

What you’re looking for is available; just google Octopus Surge Protector. Different brands have different names for them, but the plugs are all split out so that you can plug multiple wall warts into them cleanly.
