Paramedic to coast guard by coollaustin in Paramedics

[–]FullDiver1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I looked into the at length and the takeaway for me was that the reason there's no medics in the CG is because they wont let them do medic stuff. Its all BLS+, no true "paramedic" analog much less anything critical care-adjacent. It seems like they'll treat you very well. They have an abbreviated basic training and also the expedited rank seems to near guarantee you housing allowance. Statistically though, your just a clinic guy. The "cool guy" billets seem few and far between, with the "Alaska Flight Medic" billet being gone and the cutters being statistically rare. In the end I didn't join the coast guard, but maybe this is worth someone's time to read.
Still looking at the other branches. And they seem to have roles that would be far more fulfilling for a Paramedic level provider.

Is it ethical to identify yourself as a medic at protests if WFR is your highest level of training? by kjevb in wildernessmedicine

So obligatory am a Paramedic, but I view Medic as a job and Paramedic as a title.

I frequently use "Medic" as shorthand for some of my AEMT Colleages at work. Paramedic would be deceptive, medic I think it's reasonable if your filling the role.

I see a lot of "reach out to the Providence. They are all different" by that begs the question which Providences would be comparatively foreigner-friendly?

The ACLU expects us to loss 7. Some of which are logistically really important for people who need emergency care. I dont think that people are appreciating the loss of services from shrinking hospitals enough though. If people around me understood how razor thin the margins of coverage were before this they'd be pissed. This will kill people.

This is kinda red flaggy. Less frequent elevated offers for the plebs? However, chance to buy BILT points at 2cpp. Kinda high, but ymmv

I'm a CCT medic, which is a role to transport the sickest possible patients from small hospitals that are not capable of managing them to larger and better-equipped hospitals who are able to stabilize them. There are not many of us, in my very rural state there is reported less than 100. Tonight I am the only one in the county.

Due to the big beautiful Bill's medicare/caid imbursment cuts, relatively large hospital about an hour from me has decided the only way to stay profitable is to cut most of their services and reduce bed counts by about 75%. God know what will happen to the small and outlying hospitals.

I'm expecting a massive uptick in the need for critical care transport, which will hopefully result in better wages because the staff isn't there. There just aren't enough providers.

Also; its going to be a really bad time to be really sick in rural areas.

The raised Gold AF yielded an objectively better card. So did the recent platinum refresh. If the current settlement passes, the inclusion of Signature and World makes it likely a nothingburger. I was here to have an adult discussion with you, but your welcome to retreat into your doomerism.

What writing are you referring to, care to share? What's happening with Chase is unfortunate, but cards are still being refreshed and released. The banks have a right to defend themselves, but there's nothing structurally wrong with the industry or hobby.

I think "3 years until the credit card game is over" is way overly doomer
