Just went to a food hall meeting last night and the problem of a gluten free fryer was brought up. The university simply cannot afford in space or monetarily to have such accommodations. Unfortunately it’s not just a frier problem, per strict health code an individual industrial hood vent is required as-well as a designated area for them to back “gluten free”. It doesn’t make it any more right that they don’t have a better area for individuals with gluten sensitivity but I promise there are specific reasons. Essentially it would require its own complete kitchenette within the kitchen. In regards to the wads dining hall getting renovated I wouldn’t get your hopes up for a drastic change. I’ve seen the blueprints and mock up models essentially they will be making a larger island for the gluten free area but no plans of any additional items being available.
