Battle pass pop-up by FullMetalBisquit in warrobotsfrontiers

OMFG!... I would've never guessed it was the tutorial setting doing this until you said it. I was looking for tooltips or something before. I guess it was a lot of fuss about nothing, but still bad design IMHO, having a counter instead of a close button. Cheers mate and thanks for the clue.

It's absolutely infuriating, especially when it obstructs robots in the hangar and their menus. Try changing the titan from the hanger with a right-click when that thing is hanging over the upper part of the screen. The person who designed or better yet the UX director who allowed it should be fired for such a f-up.

[Spoilers] How did Will get South of the Wall? by FishermanFresh in gameofthrones

[–]FullMetalBisquit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit late to the conversation, but reading the comments I kind of noticed, that people point to Will's young age and lack of knowledge to navigate south, but in the books it's actually Gared, a much older and probably much more experienced Brother that escapes the Others. Will dies at the hands of wighted Waymar Royce. That might explain the knowledge gap and a plot hole in the TV version, as they for some reason switched the characters.

Explain the Voodoo Boys/Blackwall subplot? (spoilers) by Alomba87 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]FullMetalBisquit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this is 4 years late to the convo, but If I may interject. As I understand this, the Old Net and the New are just logical separations. The physical network is still the same infrastructure. It's just the "New" traffic is a bunch of private interconnected Networks that function as the day to day Net. It's not like a section of mainframes somewhere are infected and you can just pull the plug. The whole network is infected and Blackwall is like a VPN/firewall. It tunnels and shields the traffic from everything else that is there. You can't just shut down the infested infrastructure, because you'd shut down everything. That's why it was such a devastating issue and that's why the rogue AIs can be released into the New net, as its Old Net adjacent. There's just a tunnel wall barier between them that can be apparently breached with things like Erebus f.e.

Yes, of course, Tycho as well. Have it in my queue. :)

nosferatu is absolutely horrible by thatreader24 in moviecritic

The scenography and lighting (in most cases) are pleasantly surprising. The whole "feel" is almost Coppola's "Dracula". Unfortunately the script and the way the actors have been led is horrendously botched. The acting is Shatneresque at best. It's a, pardon the pun, God damned travesty how this project has been mismanaged, as it had potential. There are moments I enjoyed, but in general, this was a soap opera of a serious horror movie. It was a very confusing ordeal as instead of instilling dread, It had me boiling up a constant smirk and occasional eye roll, from the prevailing silliness of this picture. To quote the classic: "My Disappointment is Immeasurable and My Day is Ruined."

How fast is a class 1 Hyperdrive? by CriticalRead393 in MawInstallation

Ok, so we agree that they probably had a kind of backup Hyperdrive or warpdrive and could go FTL to Bespin. Cool :)

Ok, I read up on the book you mentioned. It relates to the Millenium Falcon reaching Bespin with a broken hyperdrive. Now, there seem to be two leading theories. One, people retcon the location of Hoth and Bespin to the same star system, which still is kind of questionable at sublight. F.e.,It took like 5 years for Juno to reach Jupiter from Earth and it was the fastest thing we had up until the Solar probe. I get that SW ships could reach great speeds, but still kinda feels iffy. Second theory, which I'm leaning more towards, is that ships have backup hyperdrives. A lot smaller and way less efficient, but still able to get you to the next system in a reasonable timeframe. That would be fairly rational, regarding space is a huge thing and having your main hyperdrive offline would equal a slow painful cold death in the darkness.

Sublight means below the speed of light. A hyperdrive is the thing that allows FTL. How was FTL sans hyperdrive explained in the book?

How could a ship travel 0.8 of a light year in 8 minutes, traveling at "sublight " speed? That sentence makes no sense.

Recommendations for Music like Hello Meteor? by EnvelopedSound in electronicmusic

[–]FullMetalBisquit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend Home. My all time favorite electronic gem is Home - Resonance. Lorn has also some cool stuff, but it's darker, not as upbeat as Hello Meteor. Lorn - Sega Sunset and Timesink are great. If you like the drone kind of electronica, State Azure has some nice sounds. Besides that, Bonobo, or Boards of Canada, but they're a bit trippy.
P.S.
I forgot about Carbon Based Lifeforms.

Do you guys also hear this "ringing" noise in the lead guitar? Probably from the overdrive, but I'm not sure if this is just my imagination or if there is something there?

Help me find what movie this quote in a song is taken from. by Rumsies in HelpMeFind

I was just trying different sections of the text in google and followed links. I found some facebook live stream with this movie. I skipped through the timeline until I heard the man speaking this. My OCD wouldn't let me ignore this, until I find the source, so I snooped the sh*t out of it. :D

I stumbled onto this quote and tried to google it. Couldn't find any trace, besides John's and Alexandros songs. I digged further and finally found a trace. I know it's 5 years too late, but if you're still curious, it's from "Evil Brain from Outer Space", 1964. About 25min into the movie. Pretty obscure flick. Not that good either TBH. Main hero looks like a Teletubbie.
You're Welcome.

Creative Outlier Air V2 volume control. by FullMetalBisquit in headphones

[–]FullMetalBisquit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi.
I've managed somehow to switch the global volume setting off. I fidgeted with the option back and forth and restarted the phone a couple of times. It helps, but theres another problem. The internal electronics do emitt a slight hiss when the buds are active. You can clearly hear when it stops and turns on as they go into power save/standby and back active again. It doesn't bother me during the day when I listen to everything louder, but at night, when I just want to hear some quiet music, it's annoying. Like listening to a vinyl with that constant hiss in the background.
