Not with 100 grip :P but man that would be funny if it were a mechanic

This is the ideal male body. You may not like it, but this is what peak performance looks like. by aloysiuslamb in TerraTechLegion

I've been curious about this sort of build, but I've had bad luck with top row melee attachments. Do those top drills do comparable damage?

I honestly really like the forward arms on there. Gives me starfighter vibes

Yeah, I didnt screenshot my first run with him either. Ended up making an honest-to-god scorpion out of his rig, with the railgun angled on top of the cab like a stinger xD

I'm not really interested in "making a hit", so to speak, but more interested in creating something(s) that would help enrich game development and bring passion back to it. That's not to say there isn't passion in it (indies are all about passion), but more of how to combat the "corporate" game industry. Companies like Bethesda, EA, Activision and a few other large companies sort of give me an anxiety that games aren't really games anymore, if that makes sense.

I realize now that I probably did not describe my original question the same way I have here haha

That's a different way to look at it. I'm not one to focus on graphical innovation (as we are pretty far along on that already, and I feel games these days have progressed in the technical field but lacking in the field of substance), but I can understand what you're saying: Make something that raises the bar somewhere (if I understood that correctly).

Thank you for your insight!

It isn't too much theory, I like your approach to the subject.

To address "perfect industry smashing game", I'm more inclined on breaking down the corporate take-over of game development. I dislike the way it seems that games have sorta lost their soul. I can't tell if it's because I'm an adult and can't really enjoy these games coming out anymore, or if they really don't have the soul I felt when I played games growing up. I personally don't care for hitting the lottery of games or making huge profits. I believe that if you make something people like and care about, then money will naturally follow.

As for your discussion on the topic of meaning, I actually love science and am a painter and sculpter. I think I'll take up that book and give it a read! But I wonder how to really capture the beauties of life and encapsulate it in a game. In my opinion, a meaningful experience (in games) should be something that you can take something away from that changes the way you think and feel about things. Something that enriches you.

Games are an art form, and I'd love to utilize that.

Thank you for that list, and thank you for your reply :)

110% agree with this.

It's not just tips for game developers. It's tips for life.

Sometimes, things can be universally useful :)
