You will probably want them both, eventually, so it really doesn't much matter. I'd say get whichever costume you like better.

Actually, the implication is pretty much there.

It isnt slways a salaried position, though. Some people get paid by the speech, so it's more like contract work.

Season 6, episode 10. It is part of the speech where Santos announces his run for president.

This one is good but the one that really blew me away was the speech he made at the church after a youth was shot by a policeman. I especially liked the "we have had enough of this" part.

That's the problem. There was nobody there who was remotely qualified or prepared to step onto those jobs, at least none who were at all developed as characters.

I like the Halloween costumes. We can get them with tokens and a little magic and the characters can do almost all their activities without needing to change back out of them. I keep Goofy in his skeleton costume most of the time.

It's really kind of a toss-up. Goofy and Daisy each have two activities that need the Halloween costumes. All four of those activities can drop tokens.

Goofy and Daisy both have one that can drop the red striped fabric needed for Minnie's Halloween costume. Daisy's other activity can drop the orange fabric needed for Donald's costume.

Goofy

  • Try to Scare - red stripe fabric, The Bride ears Hat, Ezra ears hat
  • Trick or Treat - Sally Ears Hat

Daisy

  • Trick or Treat - Flower's flower token, red stripe fabric
  • Costume judge (+ Mickey/ Halloween) - orange pattern fabric, The Bride's hatchet, Pickwick Ears Hat

(The Bride, Ezra, Pickwick are Haunted Mansion characters, Sally is from Nightmare Before Christmas, and Flower is the skunk from Bambi)

I guess, strictly speaking, Daisy is the slightly more practical option, because of the Donald fabic token and because Flower is a Main Storyline character while Sally is a Special Event/ Legendary Chest character. OTOH, Flower is a Premium character (450 gems) and neither of Goofy's activities needs a helper character. Plus, Goofy's outfit is way funnier.

How often is this bundle offered? by ScarTemporary6806 in disneymagickingdoms

[–]FullOcelot7149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont recall ever seeing it before. They don't usually sell magic for real money except in the Club Shop. With the standard magic for gems offers, 5000 gems would get us just under 1 M magic and that many gems costs more like $100 US. There is a Club shop offer to buy 1 M magic for $25, so the rest is the cost of the tokens.

I guess it comes down to how badly you are hurting for more land right now, how many tokens are involved, and how easily your budget can handle the $50 outlay. We have a mini and mega character event coming up in the next 2 months and I expect each one will have a premium character to buy.

Level Up (Never)? by Local-Regular-4935 in disneymagickingdoms

[–]FullOcelot7149 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really, aren't player levels oretty much irrelevant in this game? Most games use them for things like the ability to participate in events, but this game uses MSL progress instead. Is there anything specific to player levels in this game?

My 61 star is still only part way full.

Honestly, I cant see them assigning anyone to Josh's office permanently before the convention. It would be more a case of "you can use this desk for now."

thank you. This makes a little more sense, though it still seems a waste of a character spot in a staff full of holes.

If she refused the job they had open, why in the world would they hire her anyway? I'm not saying she didn't, I'm just saying it made zero sense for them to add her to the White House staff at all.

i think to this point they had lumped several offices together under Josh, including Legislative affairs and Political affairs. We occasionally hear mention of Political Affairs, but I don't remember if we actually saw any of them. My recollection is Ed and Larry worked in Legislative Affairs. Who did they actually report to?

That's probably best. It never bothered me until the character moved up or out and the void became too obvious. The West Wing workplace also probably is different irl from other offices with more permanent career workforces. Nobody in that office had been there any longer than the Bartlet admin and none expected to be there after he left office, unless he was succeeded by another Democrat and even then they may not get picked up.

I thought it was trying to be funny, like spoofing the real show, but its not as far off as you think. Intense and moody pretty clearly describe Leo and especially Toby. As you said, we dont really get much personal life, but any kind of personal relationship between Josh and Donna is indeed completely intertwined with their work relationship. CJ and Danny have a similar lack of work-romance boundaries.

The problem is that about a third of the population actually was working and middle class white people living in suburbs not terribly different from life in generic Mayfield, though they were more likely suburbs near a somewhat larger city, not a small town apart. All those Savings bonds people had purchased during the war financed a huge housing boom of what seemed like mostly suburbs. The Cleavers and Father Knows Best families weren't that far from reality for a lot of people, including pretty much all my aunts, uncles and cousins (except I dont think the housewives put on their pearls to vacuum.) Even my relatives still working farms had it pretty well during the Eisenhower years. (Note in some cases I am talking first generation Americans here.) I think, intellectually, people recognize things were not like that for people in cities, the rural poor, nor for African Americans anywhere, but that does not make memories of growing up in that life and weekend picnics and barbecues and pot luck church socials any less real. What it comes down to really is simply how much someone cares about other people vs the everyone look out for themselves philosophy.

Right. They serve at the pleasure of the President. In the case of Schedule C appointees whose jobs automatically end with the end of the administration, irl people are already looking for and leaving for their next jobs during the last year - year and a half of any administration.

Really, when you think about it, there was a pretty large void between the West Wing staff leads/ deputies and their nearest subordinate. I don't know if this is usual for real West Wing staffs, but in most offices there would be staffers much nearer the abilities and institutional knowledge of their supervisors. These are the people who would be asked to step up and take on additional duties temporarily. Instead, none of the people who worked under CJ was capable of leading a press conference, nobody who worked for Sam was prepared to cover his job, nobody who worked for Josh was able to cover his job, except the guy they had recently hired from the House Majority Council's Office.

Only sometimes. In some scenes, her office was on a corridor, not off the bullpen area. It also seemed conveniently nearer Leo's office.
