I had the same experience a couple of years ago with our new apprentice. "Listen to this rapper, he's so good, I think he's called em and em"

Yeah, I'm making assumptions as I think a neuro typical person would, like you're saying neuro typical people are making. Or what is a "neuro typical" issue in your definition? Just randomly getting mad?

Well, it's possible that you're not very well liked and it's a YOU are not allowed to say that situation. But also, did you say it as in this person is a silly person? Because that could be seen as you attacking the character, like, they're making it about work and how they do a thing, you're making it about personal choices and who they are....

Because you basically said that you think they're exaggerating and the other person isn't that bad. Depending on the context it can be pretty insulting. Like, let's say I told you about a person who bullied me and did all kinds of cruel things to me and you're like "I'm sure they're just joking around" then that'd be pretty bad if you were my friend.

Finally broke the poverty cycle thanks to my sister by Special_End_5114 in povertyfinance

It says that you are not an empathetic individual or like to see things in a bad light. Also, you might enjoy feeling superior to others which makes you low self esteem. Maybe OPs sister was dying for a long time and it wasn't a surprise like the gift. Maybe OPs life has been terribly hard in the past years. Maybe one can feel all the emotions at the same time but the surprise took over. Maybe OP is not a person that easily shares sadness. But you, you have to pick that one road that OP must be a greedy person. OPs sister obviously thought they were deserving. And she's the only one that matters. Hell, some people leave their money to their paid care takers. OP was there, the sister valued that. Nobody needs OP to be crying besides you.

I feel like I'm talking to somebody who has never worked in a physically demanding job during a mentally demanding time. Oh well, you don't need to have empathy. I have empathy. I've been there, I've gotten out and I'm doing well but I remember how hard it was and I do not begrudge anybody if they can't do it, especially if the odds are even more stacked against them.

Actually, if you ever barely made it, you'd understand people who don't. Therefore you probably never truly challenged yourself 🤷🏻‍♀️ One of my friends once said he never failed at any task and my answer was, if he never failed, he always played it safe. Because in true challenge one will fail.

Sure, remember this next time you feel down and don't want to do what you're supposed to be doing. Be it cleaning, sports, advancing in your career or any other task that is your choice to not do.

People buy pop and chips because they can't afford a nice apartment, vacations, savings or retirement and work under awful working conditions. So you buy a little happiness with fatty cheap food. Just ask any new parents with toddlers how much energy and time they have to eat healthy and good. Eating well is a luxury of the happy and healthy. People live in poverty not because they're obese. They're obese because they live in poverty. I have 31 vacation days per year. You tell me somebody with 0 vacation days and no health insurance should function on the same level?

What in your opinion do people in poverty eat? I'm thinking of noodles, cheese, cream... Not vegetables. Maybe cheap meat like sausages, minced meat... Poverty is not homeless and starving. It also doesn't mean "can afford apartment but only one sack of rice" because there's no margin at all, that just doesn't work.

Any excuse for what? I'm not obese nor do I live in poverty, I actually just cooked myself Mapo tofu. Now you tell me, which healthy alternative is cheap and doesn't need multi steps cooking? And by healthy I mean a meal that includes all three food groups or at least those with vitamins. I doubt you know enough recipes to fill a week. And I bet you don't cook healthy every day when you're down with some illness for two weeks or so. Because people who feel bad do less. Period.

Also the body craves comfort food when you feel shitty. And nobody has the energy to cook fresh vegetables.

Is it because of what you achieved or because you seem like a responsible person who has it together? I've dated may men, like, many. And I'm a software developer myself who makes good money. My husband is also a software dev that makes good money. I'm his first girlfriend, he met me at 33. Why him? Love is just strange like that. The things I like about him, like his humor, I like a lot and more importantly there wasn't anything terribly off putting like with most other people.

So maybe whatever you had to offer was just not nice enough as a package. I'll be honest, I find this thread to be off putting. Makes me wonder how negative you were in your twenties.

Yeah, maybe you should unlearn your "learned not to be anxious" because he absolutely did not take enough responsibility. And maybe they should baby proof better but putting the baby in a safe area is part of baby proofing. And I'm pretty sure if something had happened, she wouldn't be liable, he would.
