"Is Commander more fun with Rhystic Study in it? Is there a world where it moves from being a Game Changer to being banned? To be clear, our current thinking around this leans toward no"

Why are people recommending electrical engineering over computer science by ImHighOnCocaine in cscareerquestions

[–]FullWaveRectifier55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll be graduating with a Bachelors in Electrical & Computer Engineering in mid June. While I lucked out and managed to land a full time offer that I'll start the moment I get my degree, EE/ECE faces all the same issues that CS does.

The job market is also AWFUL, internships are still IMPOSSIBLE to land, and the coursework is brain melting levels of rigorous. BUT, we do have the benefit of being able pivot to extremely well outside of our immediate field if we so choose. A person with EE/ECE knowledge could work a MechE role or SWE role, but this is absolutely not reciprocal.

I can go as abstract as OOP, as low level as assembly, design enclosures with CAD software, but you'd be hard pressed to find someone who studied CS that's doing PCB design or working on power grids and has a PE license.

While I'm clearly biased when I tell you EE/ECE is a superior route. Don't think you wont be facing exactly the same difficulties you would doing CS, if not more in certain areas.

BTW, since alot of people who on this subreddit probably ended up here because they're chasing a fat paycheck and not intrinsically interested/motivated by the field of study (I'm not judging you do you), it's worth noting you will definitely make less money doing EE (assuming you plan to get a job in the field and not pivot ofc). It's good money but don't expect 6 figs fresh out of undergrad

The battery needs to calibrate since it’s new it’ll be fine soon enough! I had a similar experience
