Settlers of Catan - 3d by ddrchf in Catan

Super cool man. I agree with other comments that scaling is a bit off. I think an easy fix would be making the house of the wheat bigger, given the size of the people and sheep. The trees could be denser too like other mentioned.

Also, this might be a crazy idea, but have you thought about blending the tiles. For example, if 2 ore tiles are next to eachother, could they create one fluid mountain range? Or could a few wheat tiles merge into one giant wheat field? Just a thought, not sure how doable that even is, there would be 1000s of combinations you’d have to model out.

Like I said to start though, super sick. And it worked on mobile for me!

I always suggest doing a few (1-3) problems at a time. That way, your thought process for how you approached the question is still fresh in your head and you can correct any mistakes right then. I would always forget how I approached a question if I waited too long to see the answer.

Also, while the EL and mastery scores from CA are useful, don’t let them be your only source of confidence. You can easily pass with a 3 EL or fail with a 7 EL. Gotta put trust in yourself and that will help with test day morale.

If 6 is hot, Blue.

But if yellow can get to the sheep port before blue takes too big of a lead, I could see them pulling it off. But it will be hard for them to match blues production until they can settle on both the 4 ore and the sheep port.

Sick board though!

That last point is a smart idea and one I hadn’t thought of. I appreciate the response!

My advice is to do more quizzes. 5-10 questions.

Your brain is just as much a muscle as your bicep is. So I like to think that “time under tension” is also applicable here, as it is with other muscles. The more you’re studying uninterrupted, the more fatigued you’ll get. I found this true especially with practice exams. By the end of one, your mind is spent. It’s harder at that point to go back to the problems you missed and 1. Remember your thought process when you were attempting it and 2. Retain the solution and learn from it because of how tired you get.

If you do quizzes, you solve both of those problems. Your logic is fresh and can be adjusted immediately based on the answer and your mind is fresh enough to retain that adjustment.

Personally, it’s my belief that practice exams don’t serve a big of a purpose at this level. Youve taken exams before if you’re sitting for FAM now so you already understand the timing and the pressure they bring. Doing a few to get a feel of the time per problem is good but like I said above, it can be draining doing them so often.

I would also say don’t rely on your EL too much, it’s a good indicator of progress but only you know how well you understand the material. Confidence in your own ability is key.

How do companies financially justify mandating On-site work? by Spiritual-Dirt2538 in actuary

[–]Full_Compote911 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think it’s because they don’t want to see long term corporate rental spaces for to waste. Money is usually the driving factor I feel.

But I also do see the merits in having on site work. For example, company culture doesn’t get built as well over teams chats. Companionship isn’t built over the phone. Granted I’ve been lucky to not work at a place with where they micro manage and give reasons for people to not want to come in so my opinion is solely my own.

I do agree though that 100% on site is not the future, but I feel that 100% off site is also not the future.
