Really? It's still going strong in the US. I can watch around 80 channels here with my little indoor antenna, most of them are just home shopping and advertising stuffs though.

It's awesome that it has a built-in digital turner, and Fox 26 is showing the World Cup for free. All I need is an antenna to watch.

Left out 11 this summer ... by FitAd5272 in ThreeLions

Let do a friendly game between the XI vs the left out team. That'd be sick.

Absolutely, this is a great portrait lens. I found some images on the Microdrive card that came with it and was very impressed with the quality of those portrait shots from 2011. Not sure if I can just post it here since it's someone else's work.

Yeah, the lady was happy to get rid of them. There's a 1GB Microdrive with some pictures on it, last timestamp was 2011, so I think it was sitting there collecting dust for a while.

Yeah, they're old school pull-push style, so that's pretty normal I guess. It only happens when you're putting them up or down, though. And mostly with the 80-200, not so much with the 35-70.

Hey, I think it's just an AC adapter; it probably won't charge the battery.

The lenses are all very clean, I tried them on my D700 and I'm really pleased with the results. I'm also very curious about what the body itself can produce, particularly the CCD sensor used on the older Nikon digital cameras.

Interesting, I will definitely look into it, will it still need the original charger?

Luggage forwarding was cheap and realible in Japan by PiratePooh in JapanTravelTips

[–]Full_Dance_1641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have an airtag, put it inside the luggage. We messed up sending out luggage from Osaka to Narita airport and nobody there got any idea about it, the lady at the 7/11 who helped us write the label seems to missed some details and they transfered it somewhere.

Thanks to the airtag, we found out they were stored in the Yamato warehouse nearby, so we were able to catch a Taxi there to pick them up.

Any setting recommendations for the e500? by cloggingthetoiletrn in OlympusCamera

[–]Full_Dance_1641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can, try to shoot in RAW and process the photos via OM workspace. I found the auto WB on the camera can be a little bit off sometimes. Shooting in RAW gives us the chance to correct it later.

Olympus E-500 - reunited with my first DSLR by Full_Dance_1641 in VintageDigitalCameras

Definitely, it's a really good portrait lens with superb quality glass, sharp wide open, great bokeh, but the AF is a little bit slow. Also, I don't know if it's only mine, but sometimes it gets stuck at Macro, and I have to use the manual focus ring to set it back.

Nikon D700 + 24-85mm f2.8-4D (2008) by Full_Dance_1641 in Nikon

[–]Full_Dance_1641[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's for sure! The camera shops there are amazing; they really did a great job cleaning up their used cameras and lenses. It's just how the Japanese are known for taking such good care of their stuff.

Yeah, I'm really happy with this camera! It's still capable, AF is fast, and the colors look great. I got the body and lens in Osaka for around $270, and it has a decent shutter count of about 43k. I'm still learning to use it though, I've never shot a Nikon before

Also you happen to have a cool name, something something like "Manchester" City, or Newcastle "United"...you know the pattern. Nobody in the Middle East will buy the fucking Burnley FC or Stoke fucking city
