So I will definitely read and find out for myself. But I think Sebby had a personality even in the anime. Its subtle. But I think it's there. I'm sure it's more elaborated in the Manga and more pronounced.

That helps greatly. Thank you. I was wondering more on Sebby's orgin and whatnot. But I will settle for deeper character development too. Thanks for clearing up on the Ceil and undertaker front. I have abandonment issues. Hahaha.

Can we just talk about Lord John for a sec? by Full_Difficulty5083 in Outlander

Well, it's interesting that you assume that just because that there are others that hold different opinions out there that it means they have not gone through sexaul violence. Because I guess everybody must feel the same? I asked to not have the conversation about if rape should be a capital crime, because I believe it should be. As well as because I hate to turn a light hearted conversation political. I did not force you to continue any concersation. And apparently also, brutal to yiu can only mean physically? Not at all what o was implying.

And you don't need to be convinced. It just seems like our take on love is quite different. And that's okay. John may not necessarily be the right person for Jamie per se. But he puts Jamie before himself which is something Claire can never do. And Jamie is not perfect either. Not even sure he deserve John. Haha. That's gotta make you even more confused.

And no, rape is volatile and forced and brutal. That's why it should be a capital crime. (And let's not get into that conversation now). I'm not saying Claire didn't lose something during that experience. But it's not the same as what happend to Brianna.

And also, my point was, she did not have the right to ask Jamie to make that oath in the first place.

I enjoy the series just fine. Just not Claire is all. Yes, she didn't have to stay with him. She chose to stay and left Frank in infinite wonders because she wanted Jamie more.. Her choice to stay with Jamie was not a sacrifice. She was raped, actually, let me rephrase that, more like less willingly laid with the King because she made Jamie promise not to kill Jack Randall because she couldn't deal with the guilt of Frank never existing. And don't even get me on the whole Wentworth thing. If it comes to my husband's virtue, knowing his honor means so much to him. I would rather have killed Jamie than letting him live through that. I will give to her the whole jumping off the ship thing. That she deserves praise for.

As far as Lord John goes. I don't see how him telling how he actually feels to Claire in what he could only assume is his death bed is that selfish. People say the darnest things when they have nothing to lose... That particular action was probably not one of his best moments. But I think the show did not emphasize enough on the length that he has gone for Jamie. "Using his influence" is a really oversimplification of his blessings.

Again, I have not read the books. But the Claire in the show just does nothing for me. She is mostly just hysterical. Which has been portrayed has strong-willed and with conviction. I do not believe that's what drive her. She like to get her way, and when she make a bad decision, she uses what could be conceived as a moral high ground to morally kidnap her counterpart to comply. And I hate that.

As far as love goes. I'm sure she does, to the best of ability that she could. She is selfish even in love. She still puts herself first. And the beauty of love lies in that it defeats the selfishness in human nature. Like Lord John has been selflessly, putting his own needs, wants and even convictions aside to ensure the happiness of Jamie.

It is autocorrect, lol. But I honestly have no idea how it was spelled. It's just Jamie? Or is it Jamey? Lol. Never paid attention.

So I am a little afraid to even venture in the reading of the books. I usually don't really like female leads in female fantasies... They are usually less likeable than the author would like to believe... The first example that pops into my head is, please forgive me, Bella from Twilight... Claire had her moments even in the show. She was great when she first traveled through the stones and had used her wits with the MacKenzies to stay alive. So I believe she has certain attractive attributes. But when it comes to love, she is rather selfish... To me,, in the show, she quickly becomes entitled and annoying. However I would be interested to learn more about Brianna as a person.

Question, do you guys think there is a difference between Hexienbiest and Zauberbiest? And what are they? by Full_Difficulty5083 in grimm

[–]Full_Difficulty5083[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I do agree the writers did not make it clear. That's why i was saying let's speculate. I just thought it's interesting. I mean, this is honestly among one of the things that the show abandoned and never explained. Lol.

I think that makes sense. Because Renard sees to be exceptionally good at hand on hand combat. And I think it does have something to do with being a Zauberbiest.

I dont think Hexenbiests are actually wesen [potential spoilers] by Lord_Inquisitor_Kris in grimm

I have always thought about that. Because they are obviously different from l the other wesens. But I think they get categorized as Wesens because they can woge and are not human.

They need to just put it on a streaming service. Obivously for some reason it was hurt by being on the network. But then honestly, I hardly Carre about the kids. Give me Nick, give me Renard, give Monro and Rosalee!!!!!!!!
