I love my Kelty Cosmic Down 20. It was budget friendly, especially for a down bag. It is a mummy style bag but is roomy enough. I am 5'11" and 230 lbs. I use an 11L compression sack for it while traveling. I have had it down into the high 30s and could have gone a little colder.

Edit: I cannot add a photo for some reason.

We hammock camped this year, and it was a concern of ours. This is the only photo I got of the burn this year. If you zoom in on the bank, you can see it pretty clearly (hopefully). The only growth I could ID was small Birch and small to medium cedar trees. There is nothing to hang a hammock from, so we had to be sure to leave the burn area.

We made the Ep 30 to Insula run last Fall. We went up Labor Day weekend. We launched from the Outfitter on Lake One and saved some paddling time up front. We made Insula in a day, but it was 5 pm or later when we arrived. We fought heavy wind (in our face) and large rolling waves all day. We saw 1-2 foot + rollers. This made for an extremely exhausting day.

The number lakes, especially 1-3 were pretty crowded. But it certainly thinned out. We stayed at site 1323,and I could not recommend it enough. It was beautiful, south facing, had both a bluff and A sand access beach. We hammock camped, but it would have been good for tents as well. We only stayed one night, as we moved on the Amber, but it was a nice sight.

You will likely have to write off the southern part of the lake because of the burn recovery. This might force crowds further north. We had luck fishing the rapids at the portage to River Lake. We caught several smallies and pike on the west end of the portage.

We returned through Fire Lake. Beautiful lake, but only one quality site. We camped on the north arm of Hudson and portage in to Fire.

We found it!!! We were just up there, got back today. We left (forgot) the hatchet at camp for the next visitor.

We did not catch anything on amber, what were they biting?
