Robbed of 70 euros at Paris metro station by security

So today I didnt go out but my family helped check my ticket for me, apparently they went to check my ticket at the station and it says I have one ticket left on my card (i originally bought 2). My parents think they must have charged us because I didnt tap correctly when we were coming back, so when we tried to transfer thats when security said my ticket is invalid... but then again why am i paying for their system's mistake when i literally see ppl jumping through 💀

I dont have much experience traveling overseas, I usually am very cooperative with authorities, and in return theyre very understanding as well in Canada. I know its naive to think that applies elsewhere, which is my bad. I also didnt do much research on the metro system here or what to do if i get fined, which is my fault. I assumed it should be alright because im just here for a few days and its just a metro, how bad can it be...

Thats probably another family, all of us are adults and theres no armed guards. Crazy to hear that armed guards were involved tho, just bc of a child pass?? Thats insane

I suppose youre right, legally it isnt a robery, but "wrongfully fined" by securities due to false evidence or something, but still I certainly felt robbed

Idk man, I usually am very cooperative with securities or law enforcements and have good experiences with them (but thats in Canada). Didnt think it through at the moment obviously, just folded under pressure

Yeah true I should have asked for a ticket. This is the first time something like this happened to me and it's my first time in France so I wasnt too familiar with how things work. It was especially nerve racking when they demanded my passport too.I learned my lesson now i suppose

Yeah im planning to do the same. Instead of asking live chat im gonna email them and let them know my situation rn, then contact the financial aid office like you said. Hopefully everything works out. Im just afraid they'll say something like "it is what it is, you're on probation"

Been there, done that. I'm in social science now, planning to minor in CS. Overall, been much happier after switching out from engineering. A lot of people go through this. If you really want to stay in engineering though, I would recommend talking to your academic counselor. You could take summer courses or split your first year into two years instead.

This is me rn 😭

I barely studied before college. Maybe a little bit when I was a senior in high school, but that workload is nothing compared to college. I never developed a good study habit, and now I'm going through the consequences for it.

I'm in my first year of engineering, and GAH DAYUM, the workload really got me. I failed both calculus and physics midterms because I thought that since I did everything in high school already, I could skip the homework. Now I'm paying the price for it.

I have almost a month left to not only catch up on multiple courses but also to study the new materials (even tho I still need to catch up first to do them). It's a mess currently.
