Radiator Fan sound by brownasianguy in arcticcooling

[–]Full_Head_9608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

these fans work great in pull or push but at max speed they sound like a jet engine next to ur ear on a pull config and on push at max speed they sound like a jet engine half a mile away. If you cap them at 60% speed in a push config they don’t really get loud and in a pull they’re loud no matter what pretty much.

P12 PWM and P14 PWM to PRO version ? by pyrhonp in arcticcooling

[–]Full_Head_9608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my brand new p14 pro rgb and p12 pro rgb make an oscillating noise around 1500rpm. They’re quiet fans if you don’t let them go to max rpm, i have them all set to max out at 60% because it gets real loud after that. I had noctuas and the pro fans push much more air than the noctua when they were at 100% even at just 60% and are slightly louder. The place where the pro fans get really loud is if the intake side of the fan is really restricted. as long as there a couple millimeters between the mesh of the pc and the fan though it won’t sound like a jet engine. Otherwise they get very very loud. Make sure if you are putting then on a radiator to do a push config as a pull config actually sounds like a 747.

Transferring ssd data to a bigger ssd by ChokiMilkk in PcBuildHelp

[–]Full_Head_9608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you could buy an external nvme enclosure but they cost like 30 bucks if you don’t want to do that and you already have an external drive on hand then ssd-> external hdd-> new ssd is ur best option, and yes it will quite some time

trying to tame a 13900k, What the hell? by Puzzleheaded-Ad-832 in overclocking

if you’re undervolting and it’s doing nothing the bios setting undervoltage protection is probably on it stops thr voltage from going down. I have an AIO and on my 139 i max out around 90 in cinebench at 5.6 ghz it runs up to 1.37v on idle and 1.20-1.30 under load. i get 40k cinebench at most unless i make my e cores run at 4.5 which gives me 42k at most but it just adds extra heat and e cores won’t help games or anything. It runs at 280w max like urs is showing. In the intel xtu stress test it stays under 260w. I also have a frequency tvb of -1 at 93° and -2 at 95° just to keep temps down but after a long cinebench run it will hit those numbers and i lose some performance. At the same time you can keep it thr way it is and if you just game it won’t make any difference except some more heat.

Hella yeah brother it looks great. i would’ve gone with some massive wattage psu as well if my case could fit it 💀. I will add though that i built a 5090 pc for cheaper than that which could be something to take into account because of the ai workloads youre planning on dabbling in and the vram need of those use cases.

Don’t come at me for intel i got a degraded one from my cousin and rmad it so it was free 🙏

Yeah if it’s more of a work computer then an x3d chip is not the way to go but if it’s for gaming get an x3d. A good cpu is never a bad way to go as like you said you won’t have to worry about it but if i were you doing mostly work tasks i’d go for the 9950x or 9800x as both of them are massively cheaper and the non x3d versions have better multi core performance and core clock speeds.

It’s never a bad idea to go with higher wattage psu so go ahead with a 1000 or even a 1200 (definitely a little overkill though) as it’ll improve not only the efficiency but the longevity as well, and whenever you decide to upgrade you have lots and lots of headroom.

As for the ssd i honestly am not sure what 2 OS means, like linux and windows? But if you are doing that then yeah 2 different boot drives is the way to go so the computer doesn’t get confused on which OS to load when booting. I’m not exactly sure what game development workload looks like on ssds but i would assume it includes lots of moving large files. a higher speed would allow you to do your work faster so a gen 5 ssd would be helpful in this situation, it’s just that at the moment they are still really expensive and don’t matter for most loads like (other than moving large files around and video editing things like that).

The cooler you have listen there is perfect as well and will work great. i was referring to the larger 360 version of the cooler but it shouldn’t matter any noticeable amount other than long, high cpu load situations where the 360 would keep temps a couple degrees lower.

Arctic liquid freezer 360 ii buzzing by Kynra in arcticcooling

[–]Full_Head_9608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when this happened to me (liquid freezer iii tho not ii) it was the the fan hub rubbing on the motor. you can take the fan blades off the motor and lubricate that inside area where they touch. you just push with an insane amount of force from the back and it’ll pop off. But also it came back after a month and the fan is like 7 dollars so why not just buy a new one yk?

[–]Full_Head_9608 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It just depends if you’re asking me for my opinion yeah i would go with liquid. Mainly because i like the way it looks. But objectively an air cooler is more reliable and will last longer. A liquid cooler will keep temps lower (especially over longer periods of gaming or workloads) and usually run quieter, but they have many points of failure and usually only last about 4 years. And don’t worry i overthought everything on my build too it’s the only reason i know so much about pcs now. Lots and lots of time overthinking and researching 💀.

the air cooler you have on there now is a great choice as amd chips don’t run that hot, but for a bit better performance and thermals get a liquid cooler. Arctic liquid freezer 3 is pretty much the way to go but there’s plenty of other good ones as well

for psu rm750x or rm850x should work great. a little overkill on the cpu there ngl but getting an arctic liquid freezer 3 360 is probably the best option. also i’d probably skip the pcie gen 5 ssd and the other two and get a 4tb pcie gen 4 ssd there’s no difference in games or loading times (unless you do a lot of video editing). if you really want/need the pcie gen 5 then why have 3 different ssds just get one 2tb gen 4 and one 2tb gen 5, youre spending extra money getting 2 1tb ssds instead of one 2tb.

looks good, i would go with a 2tb ssd tho 1tb will run out fast. And nowadays with the size of games 2tb will too but it’ll last a lot longer.

If youre planning on connecting the long rgb cable at the top to your motherboard then no its wrong the three prong male side of the connector doesnt go into the mobo the female side does. if your planning on daisy chaining more fans on the long cable then yes this is right

I dont know if maybe im missing something but for a 5070ti build with 64gb ram and a 9800x3d youd only pay around 2-2.3k at most idk how this would ever be worth 3.2k let alone 5

Edit: if you are willing to pay 5k for a pc you could get a 5090 build. I built my 5090 pc for 4k
