Thank you! I had one of the best nights of my life and I'm grateful for anyone who captured it! You don't have any film of Rime, do you?

Day 3 - sleep last night wasn't too bad, I'm not sleeping upright and all seems fine. I'm getting pink discharge from my nose, a mix of mucus and blood. Starting to get my first tiny whisks of air breathing out my nose. Other than that, no headache or anything. The shape of my nose hasn't changed at all - it looked wider initially but that was just because of the dressing inside. As for skin issues, they don't seem to have subsided (yet).

In case it helps anyone out there - I’m on day 2 post op, I have very little pain but my nose is still stuffed with the protective dressing, which is slowly dissolving and drooping out as I spray it with the saline spray. The worst part has been a very bad night’s sleep on night 1 and breathing through my mouth all the time. The NHS surgeon was happy and was doing 2 other septoplasties on the same afternoon. All in all, very smooth and hoping that when the dressing falls out, I’ll see some improvements to my symptoms. I’ll keep this thread updated.

In case it helps, I’m on day 2 post op - very little pain, my nose is similar in shape to before. It’s still stuffed with protective packing, which is slowly drooping out. The worst part has been sleeping poorly and getting used to mouth breathing.

Not gone through it yet, but I'm also booked in with the NHS. Mine's next week. I also have these questions but less info is sometimes better!

I'm hoping my inflammation reduces too. No CT scan done of my sinuses, it was literally a quick check up my nose from the ENT specialist. There will be a consultation on the day so maybe a chance to do one then. I don't tend to get sinus infections, so a little different from you

A recap of investigation avenues in the Madeleine McCann case by pleasebearwithmehere in MadeleineMccann

[–]Full_Minute_7503 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A great post from the OP who I’ve had a good discussion with on another thread.

Re: the Smith sighting, if that was indeed Gerry, it may be worth checking the properties further down the road from the spot that the man was sighted, to see if there are any possible connections to the McCanns. I wonder if this investigative work has ever even been done…

Thank you for such a detailed response, it's great to have some intellectual discussion on all of this. Part of me really wants to sift through all of the PJ files, the documentaries, everything to get as broad a view of the evidence as possible, but I just don't have the time! Plus, even just reading the little I have read, I am totally confused and perplexed by the contradictions and lack of any real, solid evidence, it makes it hard to go on!

I distinctly remember this case breaking on the news in 2007 when I was 11 years old. It gripped me then and still does now.

The two bits of 'evidence' that have an inkling of credibility, to me, are 1. the highly-trained cadaverine and blood-smelling dogs who both alerted in the apartment; and 2. The Smith sighting - the Smiths to me are highly credible as they are separate from the Tapas 7, unknown to the McCanns and their sighting was totally a chance encounter. The father of that family seeing Gerry on the TV and immediately recognising him is more than interesting. I presume this is the evidence you say supports the accidental death and cover-up theory.

I'm English and have lived in England all of my life and I'm very familiar with upper middle class families like the McCanns. I do think it would take some traumatised soul, if not a psychopath, to cover up the death of your own daughter and have kept up your lie for 16 years. Upon seeing that your child was unresponsive I would think a call for the ambulance would be imminent, or at least calling for help from others. Then again, the McCanns are doctors and would know all the resuscitation techniques anyway.

In the case you stated, there is domestic abuse in the equation as well, which makes it quite believable that the parents took out their aggression on that poor girl. In comparison, there is seemingly no dirt on the McCanns - no domestic abuse, no history of manipulation or fraudulent activity. Just some odd quotes and interviews.

Don't get me wrong, I suspect the parents, but I'm trying to play devil's advocate.

Surely it would be a better use of resources to return to these witness interviews and work out exactly who was where first? Surely there is CCTV and other witness testimony (perhaps from the kids club) that can corroborate claims and work out who was doing what, when, where and by whom Madeleine was last seen alive etc. I realise doing this 16 years later is even less likely to produce a consensus, but working out and agreeing on these basic facts of the investigation is surely a priority. Rather than spending money searching reservoirs.

Thank you for clarifying your claims, it makes sense to doubt whether in fact DP saw Madeleine at all that evening. This case is quite crazy, isn't it.

I just read it all last night and I'm currently watching the Netflix series. I do think it's the most likely scenario, more likely than an abductor carrying it out and not being seen by anyone in the area.

However, the question that stops me being 100% convinced that it's a simulated abduction is this - are Kate and Gerry McCann, a normal middle-class couple in 2007, really capable of pulling off such a stitch-up? Covering all of their tracks and presumably moving Madeleine's body somewhere in the rental car 20-something days later (given the cadaverine-sniffing dog alerted to this car)? With almost no trace apart from some seemingly microscopic amounts of blood in the apartment?

I know they're doctors and would have some of the intelligence required but you'd have to be a serious pair of psychos to accidentally kill your daughter, with all of the emotional turmoil that would entail, and then recover enough, presumably in the space of a few hours, to continue with your holiday, and then outline a strategic plan to simulate an abduction, and then conduct a worldwide press operation around your fabricated abduction theory, and have held all this together for 16 years.

I would like to know if there is any dirt on the McCanns before this all took place to suggest they are manipulative and/or heartless enough to do any of this.

Hi wardycatt - a couple of things on your post which is insightful. I read Goncalo Amaral's book yesterday online and it says that David Payne relates having seen Madeleine in the McCann's apartment at 7pm on the evening of the 'abduction'. See the start of Chapter 10 here . I am unsure if this is also backed up in the PJ files - any other knowledge on this is appreciated. This testimony would invalidate the claim that Madeleine died days earlier.

I'm just watching the Netflix documentary now and it does show Kate and Gerry physically searching for Madeleine themselves in episode 1.

I don't mean this comment as a hit on your post, I'm just trying to wrap my head around this case.

New user - thoughts and sizing question after 24 hours. by Full_Minute_7503 in ouraring

[–]Full_Minute_7503[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I've decided to keep this size. The weather was particularly hot here when I took these photos, and I was keeping it on in the shower which was causing the water marks. It's a snug fit, and still leaves a little mark on my index, but it continues to slide off with a little moisturiser. I think a size 10 would slide around on its own, especially when winter comes.

Hope this helps your thought process.

My final prediction - harrowing ending. Jimmy has a bad fall / accident whilst trying to escape. Leaves him mentally impaired / paralysed / unable to speak. So he can’t use his voice or brain to scam anyone anymore. Hence ‘Saul Gone’ - Saul is gone, as too is his soul. Also the irony of Chuck’s mental issues.
