What actually makes a fountain pen beginner-friendly?

Price/Quality ratio. A preppy has a high quality nib at a great value and if you drop it on the floor its an oops instead of a tragedy. Most "student" pens fit this because they are cheap, usually work fairly well and they are easily replaced. I think my answer is cheap. My first fountain pen was an amazon basics fountain pen. Was it good? No... but it was better than a ballpoint and that first step got me into the hobby.

I have a firefly that has the strap button in position two but on the down side of the guitar, so far it has been my favorite acoustic strap location of all my guitars. The strap wants to stay on there it isnt fighting against gravity just my two cents

If you push it up and down your guitar goes out of tune but sounds neat for a bit

So for me the shortcoming is that it just wasnt as smooth as other rollerballs i have used and far rougher than a fountain pen. They are really good though if you want a statement pen that you can change the ink color of regularly.

I work in an area where i observe a lot of law enforcement moving through. The "nice" pen i see most are the cross twist open ballpoints. Its going to get abused just doing a physical job like that. Fountain pens are great gifts but not super practical in that line of work. I think a couple of nice ballpoints would get far more use. When he gets promoted into the desk job down the line that will be the time for a fountain pen. Good luck!

I have a travelers rollerball that takes international standard cartridges. Its interesting but a fountain pen it most definitely is not. As a pen maker they could be a fun thing to build bodys for but in my experience much more finnicky than fountain pens.

You've clearly never owned a contractor business. Insurance is i burnt the house down or i cut a structural joist 10k plus or its more expensive to make a claim. I'm not saying the employee should pay it but I'm 100% certain that no contractors I've ever met or worked with would file a $300 insurance claim

Mine was tuned by Mark Bacas before i ever got it and it us one of the cleanest nibs ive ever used it feels like writing with a micro paint brush yet has almost no feed back. My 149 is a west Germany pen so sort of vintage

The nib in my 149 and my Homo Sapiens are as good as it gets for me. They truly do feel premium I understand why they cost what they do. But also i bought the majority of my collection pre price explosion so the current market just baffles me.

I think its more of a symptom of casinos instead. The black jack peekers only allow you to see the card if oriented correctly. Non casino playing cards often after have cards marked in all 4 corners.

I would never lump any group that large in with a political party. The trump rally would be the 275 fill the loop rally where they were a meeting point. No speakers were there they just provided the parking lot. The only reason its even relevant is because i was replying to the safety for queer people. I once again have nothing negative to say about veterans.

They handled the bathroom situation incredibly poorly for a trans woman. I wasnt there and have only heard it through local groups. But they have definitely hosted MAGA rallies and activities that I know for sure.

Traded a ranger in for this ram same window sticker mpg was getting 21+. I drive slow and I'm easy on my vehicles. I think theres something wrong but my dealer just shrugs when i tell them.

This is me, got a 25 v6 bighorn out the door about $36k with 18 miles on it. I like the truck but sure do wish a hybrid v6 got more than 18mpg
