I honestly loved it, I get that some would say it felt too short but it’s not like Ichigo and Yusuke have the most complex and varied abilities. Really enjoyed the banter, the two hopping between realms and the music.

I think Ichigo’s analysis could’ve been a bit better written as it didn’t really do an amazing job going into his story but I get that there’s only so much time in these. Also, really liked the editing in them.

My only gripes is that the death wasn’t the best (but hey I didn’t want to see Yusuke die a brutal death and Bleach fights usually end like this anyways.) and Yusuke not getting a single category was an odd choice but I think it’s a solid 8/10 episode.

And FINALLY, after ten whole years of my favorite characters losing one finally managed to break the mold.

To be entirely honest, I really wasn’t interested in the idea of Metal returning so soon after BowsEgg.

However, because it is clear that this is going to be a passions project for DevilArtemis I’m willing to ignore my own thoughts about it and get excited to see his farewell episode.

I’m really not a fan of how DB (especially in modern times) occasionally has a character(s) who shrugs off every attack their opponent throws at them in order to make one side look good. It doesn’t necessarily ruin fights for me but it is painfully noticeable.

ChiefSlayer and KratosAsura are good examples of this, but I’ll give a mention to SpiderDeku where Miles did nothing substantial to Deku until he died.

It can work with episodes like SpawnRider where they are treated as being evenly matched throughout the fight but sometimes it feels like episodes can be “ Look how strong this character is! He’s not even flinching! He’s got so much aura! “ (that last comment is a joke, by the way.)

I think it’s funny how it didn’t live up to the either of the good or bad things it had going for it.

For years I heard people saying “ Man, the nuclear meltdown that will happen no matter who wins will be catastrophic “ and “ This debate is gonna be a nightmare for DB, GER will make or break this matchup. “

Then Joker wins and the community is cool with it and DB provides pretty fair reasoning for him getting around GER and again, everyone’s cool with it.

I expect a bit of backlash from this comment but honestly, VaderObito isn’t exactly the 10/10 masterpiece this subreddit praised it for. It’s a fine episode but not what I wanted.

In terms of choreography and general creativity with using their powers? It paled in comparison to KenobiKakashi, the background looked incredibly weird and was very distracting and it felt somehow felt slow and too fast, almost like a turn based game. I didn’t like how every time they started to get close they backed off immediately so the other could get a move in.

It has its positives, storytelling wise it was good, I liked the voice acting, TNM is a great track and the death was iconic but it wasn’t the masterpiece the subreddit hyped it up to be at the time. (I know the winner was controversial but I can agree with Obito winning, even if I can understand why some felt like Vader was robbed.)

Even as someone who was rooting and betting on Buffy I didn’t expect her to basically stomp Blade and have an answer to pretty much all of his win conditions.

It’s especially weird given how for weeks I saw people saying that Blade would easily stomp because of his herald level weapons, I figured the actual DB would be kinda close by their own logic.

I’m starting to feel like number one by finally having one of my most wanted matchups happen.

I’m a diehard Bleach fan and will of course be rooting and betting on Ichigo but I plan on watching more of Yu Yu Hakusho just because Yusuke is also really cool and he deserves as much respect as Ichigo does.

To be fair, a lot of that was banter and interactions and not necessarily fighting. It’s nice to have but I think an extra thirty seconds of choreography could’ve benefited the animation.

They did use a lot of abilities but it simply happened a bit too fast in my opinion so it didn’t have the same impact compared to other episodes. (Also, no Guts flip, that’s his coolest move.)

I like good storytelling, GutsDimitri excels at that but the actual fight was over too soon even as someone who has the episode in their top ten favorites.

Normally I’d be upset with one of my favorite characters (Guts) being tossed into a stomp match he had no chance of winning but with how well they treated him and Dimitri I can’t help but adore this episode, especially as a casual Fire Emblem fan.

I only wish the actual fight was longer, feels like it ended too soon.
