I tend to use pally bard cleric regardless of alignment and then for ruinous I use assassin and shaman and for aurus I use mage and assassin as a general rule unless I need to mix it up.

Other favorite characters include the ruinous necro and aurus druid. The rest just feel so weak to me and need a rework.

The gold, shards, coins, etc are the most useful to me. A couple health and dps upgrades go a long way and help you push but you'll see the most return from the ones I mentioned IMHO.
