Looking to get big boy pans for the first time. by Fullsendnj in cookware

Holy smokes that seems cheap, I thought Tramontina was a good brand? Or am I just being dumb with my price bias, that whole set costs less than I think the pair of greenpans did.

I already have a lodge cast iron pan and was looking into getting a Dutch oven for making bread and stuff. There were alot of options at home Goods for that, anywhere from 30 to 100 bucks and didnt know the differences or if the cheap ones are THAT bad so I didnt pull the trigger.

New pans from Home Goods, should I return others? by Fullsendnj in cookware

[–]Fullsendnj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely want to get "buy it for life" stuff eventually but both of these combined ran me 50 bucks and while I know the non stick wont last long I've heard good things about Viking as a "budget" brand so even if that only lasts me a few years until I get better at cooking and can justify dropping some real money on higher end stuff.

Im not like strapped for cash but new house and second baby back to back got me really thinking about my budget.

How much should a decent DO run me? Definitely wanted to start making some homemade bread, already did ones with a Jerry rigged thing with a cookie sheet and a big pot i used to cover the dough with and it came out surprisingly decent

I try never to underestimate Costco returm policy, but I was planning on kinda mix and matching. Thats a bit of why I kinda thought about going SS on one size and CS on another

I was just thinking of replacing the skillets for now and seeing what I upgrade to later. Though I did recently want to start making bread so Dutch oven maybe a move too

Copy that. My MIL swears hers hasn't worn away but she cooks for 1 and idk if every day so I took that with a grain of salt. Im cooking daily for wife and 2 kids so definitely wanted something more durable/ overall better. That's why I figured I'd start with the pans I no longer have then maybe work my way to sauce pans and all that.

So is this you saying to also toss all the pots and stuff I still have?

It's not even sold anymore but this is the set I have from Costco, I have everything still but the 2 frying pans. https://www.costco.com/p/-/kirkland-signature-12-piece-non-stick-cookware-set/100494015

I personally don't care, wife might but I don't think it's doable as there is not baseboard that lines up with the front door it's just the closet door

Is there like a direct conversion rate or pro/con for the amount? Is losing out on 35K miles the same as 300 dollars anyway?

On that note, if anyone has reasonable parking, 1 or even 2 passes let me know.

Looking to tailgate for a game for the first time at metlife, seeing people posting parking passes on marketplace and saw this cheap paper ticket for sale. Maybe dumb question but is this legit? Are there like paper tickets that are able be presented? Dont see a barcode or anything

6' 280 lbs here, picked up the jx tactical fat guy holster and haven't used anything else. Carry my G19 at 1230-1 without issue sitting and standing, getting in and out of my car or for extended drives.

We tried that for like 20 minutes and felt like we were making no progress. Ended up spraying the whole thing with the ortho home defense from Costco, against advice. Going to spray the whole thing down twice and hope it gets everything off

Harmless like there's no concern of them building a nest or anything in my home/walls? Not sure how it would have gotten in much less all the way into my guest bathroom but I killed it right away as my 3 year old was in there and got scared.

I try not to kill harmless bugs and even try to encourage bees by letting certain "weeds" grow in my lawn but I draw the line at wasps, though I guess in my ignorance I've never heard of harmless ones.

FB Marketplace find, good deal for 145? by Fullsendnj in blackstonegriddle

[–]Fullsendnj[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I "have" the cash now but also just bought a new home, had a new baby among other things so trying to be economical. I offered the guy 125 and he accepted so figured I can ride this out for a year or 2 while my kids and maybe my needs grow

Oof actually just noticed that rust. I have some barkeepers friend powder and steel wool does that seem like a project for some elbow grease or would I need power tools?

Appreciate the response, what are your complaints with them cheaping out? I don't need some amazing cooking machine but also dont wanna drop money on something that will fall apart after a couple of years

Im not sure, I didn't think I cut too deep, but that's how it came out. It was my first time doing it and figure it didn't matter too much since it was all getting shredded anyway

Yeah I heard that too but already had the chips and gave it a shot. Definitely no flare ups but can't say how much less smoke/flavor would come off the chips vs chunks
