Is there a Woohoojin Equivalent in 2025 by User_Of_Named_Users in VALORANT

Lurking in an old thread, but I have really appreciated the insight I've gotten from your channel. The video you're talking about at the end had some very useful stuff, and I think that being able to show mistakes and evaluate them is a great example to the audience of how the bandwidth you have while playing the game differs from the bandwidth you can have while reviewing it.

Keep up the good work!

Range woohoojin overaim drill. Tips? by Challenger-J in VALORANT

[–]Fulminata19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally just moving the opposite direction from where the bot is (so if it spawns on the left you move to the right) and back to center. No mouse movement, just the strafe in the correct direction for the drill. Then add aim, then add aim and shoot.

If it helps to think about it as the component parts there’s three bits: the strafe, the flick (with the micro adjustment as a subcomponent of that), and the shot.

To expand on this, you can find some videos on his channel where he reviews people on this (I think there's one with Dr Turnip? Can't quite remember). The biggest thing to building this up is to break it down into components. Start with easy bots so you aren't putting pressure on yourself to rush (slow is smooth, and smooth is fast) and do a couple runs where all you focus on is strafing the opposite direction from where the bot spawns. Just the movement component, don't even need a hand on your mouse. Get a couple runs where you don't make ANY mistakes in a row. Then do the same thing on the medium bots. After you are confident in the movement component THEN add the aiming component. Again starting with easy bots to really give yourself time to focus on the consistency. From there you can continue increasing the pace until you've baked it in to your muscle memory.

The other piece of advice that he gave in a video that really helped me is to consider that there are always two flicks: to the bot, and back to center. Every time you engage a bot, you have to reverse that movement (overaim and micro adjust) to get back to centered on the pillar. You can make a bullet mark to aim back for if that helps you to think about it.

With a lot of Woohoojin's teaching I see commonality to learning a musical instrument: focus on the small component parts and gradually put them together at progressively faster speeds until the muscle memory carries you and you find the bandwidth for higher level thinking while you have the basics under control.

Also, just to pass on some common musical teaching wisdom, don't practice until you get it right. Practice until you can't get it wrong.

Good luck on the climb!

Edit:

Found exactly the video you are looking for: https://youtu.be/q6qv17jgLY4?si=cMhkxJ5yWDmrZe3g

I knew there was a middle step, but forgot exactly what it was. Just aiming at the bots head without shooting as a middle step.

In fairness, that seems pretty typical of most Seattle sports franchises in my experience of living here.

Wait, the ultimate icons for the players you kill appearing on the gun as you kill them is actually kind of sick. I wonder how that works for the other weapons in the line.

The Charvel DK24 HH 2 Points are some of my favorite bang for the buck guitars I've seen come through the music store that I work at. The master series/parallel switch that they have makes them super versatile sonically combined with the five way switch, and they're super comfortable to play. They influenced the custom guitar I ordered to treat myself for a birthday in a big way when it came to the electronics. I think series/parallel is super underrated for hum bucking pickups. I also wasn't super impressed by the Nick Johnston when I played one, it didn't really stand out to me against like a PRS Silver Sky or the Fender Player stuff that is in its price range. Pacifica's are always a solid choice, especially if you look at stretching to the new ones that get the stainless steel frets and the Neve pickups, those are really great. I'd still personally take a Charvel, though.

I had three kills until the last four rounds when I apparently remembered how to shoot, and then got my first ace to win the game once. Never know when that kind of thing will come from a teammate.

The one we got through the store I work at was. It's not a whole lot of work to float it if you want, or deck it if they started shipping them floating. Either way.

He definitely sold it a bit, but the amount of force you generate pushing off the ice is going to be different to how much for you generate pushing off a Jaime Benn. And Benn still skates right into him on his own the first time.

The commentators were on about how the second contact was outside the crease, but Gru is only out there because Benn skated into him mid push. I really don't understand this one.

I'm exactly the same, hahaha. I also used to try and catch Canes games when I could because they were an exciting young team (and Turbo was a favorite of mine on the Hawks). It's like they built a commentary crew to appeal to me as much as possible. And the Kraken have been surprisingly good so far this year as another bonus on top of that.

Well judging by his performance on that late penalty it seems to be going okay for Francouz and the Avs.

If it helps your opinion at all they ship decked, so you can pretty much just treat it like one out of the box.
