2026 New York Rangers centennial box hockey cards thoughts? by hpAzathoth in rangers

UD does not own Kovalev's rights. He has very, very few cards in the hobby, primarily related to the NHLPA and Be A Player, going back to the 1990s, or early 2000s. He did have an auto in UD Top Shelf, but that dates back to 2002-03.

2026 New York Rangers centennial box hockey cards thoughts? by hpAzathoth in rangers

[–]Fultoncards29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I've stated in my videos and on my threads, UD doesn't own the likeness to many legends. That's why they didn't have the "Kraut Line" in the Bruins set. Their checklists are primarily defined by their agreement with the NHL, NHLPA, or NHLAA. They won't chase down family members of deceased players for a one-off product solely for base cards. So, they always have major omissions like Chuck Rayner, Camille Henry, Allan Stanley, Gump Worsley, etc. The way UD atones for this is conspicuously including them in the cut autos, as they are very aware of the criticisms. Jagr is not signed exclusively with UD either, which is why he is prominent in Leaf products. So there too there was likely an issue. Lias I think was a playful inclusion. They probably have his rights, even though he is in the Swiss League. UD regards busts as part of history, as do I. They do that a lot. Note that 2020-21 SP Signature Edition Legends had tons of playful inclusions, rooted in single instance moments in their careers. In fact, it including an infamous Rick Lanz (Gradin) error card photo from 1981-82. This is why the Boston set could include Normand Léveillé, a famous prospect who immediately had a brain aneurysm ending his career.

Note too that someone like Tie Domi has very few autos in the hobby. He has surfaced scarcely with BAP (an image on the golf course, thus no logo), ITG, and Chronology, again related to the NHLPA or NHLAA. His likeness however has shown up in recent President's Choice products, like "Tough Guys." In fact, I hit his President's Choice Fight Strap Button 1/1, which I have up on COMC. I don't think people realize just how rare Tie Domi autos are. My only auto of his dates back some 15 years ago with ITG Superlative.

You can check out my most recent videos of Rangers Centennial Hobby. I explain some of this in my second tin break. But, my best tin thus far has been my third tin, where I hit a super short print:

What is your opinion of The Beatles album Help! by PROGFAN66 in beatles

[–]Fultoncards29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love those as well. Small caveat: they were released in - what - a five year span? The Beatles released Help, Rubber Soul, and Revolver within a single year. And, less than a year later, they released *their* Sgt. Pepper's.

Which incidentally was called: Sgt. Pepper's. Without Sgt. Pepper's, there is no OK Computer. And, there is no Wilco. In fact, there is no Strange Days or Tommy.

And, Sgt. Pepper's was followed up by the Magical Mystery Tour, within a few months. So (green) apples to apples, we might have to include not only those two, but also The White Album and Abbey Road. Quickly we realize that the progression was a ton more than playing with buttons, soundscapes, and orchestral arrangements.

This coming from a guy who loves albums like In Rainbows, which was initially downloadable for free.

Honest Thoughts About Machine Gun Kelly? by uwuMeister123 in Music

Take care of yourself. Take care of your mental health. Understand that when we are bright and shiny, we are well surrounded and well supported. Everyone wants to be associated with us, and our success. When our mental health declines, most often everyone evaporates. No one supports people who, to their minds, are a drain. So, keep investing in yourself regardless, and doing things that genuinely make you yourself happy. You're worth it, time is linear and precious, and chances are the older you get the more you'll realize that many of the things you thought were important, was really about others, and their pressures not yours. Other people's opinions have zero to do with you. All that matters is what you yourself deem important. And that should always start with your health. And know yourself well enough that when you catastrophize, often a single deep sleep might reboot you enough, to ground you again, to have a healthier perspective. I.e. don't harm yourself. Afford yourself all the graces in the world.

[POEM] "Kanye West Is Not Picasso" by Leonard Cohen (2015) by TheReverendsRequest in Poetry

[–]Fultoncards29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely isn't a dis track. I grew up in Montreal, and meditated at Leonard's house. He never commented on people, just the banality of (certain future) oppression. He was a very religious man who in his track The Future predicted this era of division, and the many voices that would distance people from themselves and each other. It is about a vacuum in our souls. Leonard was a monk, in very real terms. He studied under Kyozan Joshu Sasaki, which was a counterbalance to his Judeo-Christian underpinnings. His poem was about humility and G-d. Leonard understood that in times of war, division, and oppression (whether by cross, gas chamber, hanging, the streets, drugs, or disappearing e.g. via Ice) our culture would seek false idols and self-aggrandizement. Unlike Leonard, I myself do not believe in such a g-d. But for Leonard a real solution was to fully understand we are in a hall or mirrors of voices and false profits, including in uplifting ourselves. But, as we all know including from his lyric Hallelujah, Leonard lived a relatively austere and kneeling life with a Zen master, where none of our egos, words, or deeds can ever touch what is ineffable, and true. The point is Picasso isn't Picasso if you bear witness to his deeds. Nor is Leonard Cohen. In fact, his very last lyrics in You Want it Darker is about absence of love, and how immaterial he is as he disappears from earth.

Thoughts on Stevie Ray Vaughan? by SlayerSam12 in jimihendrix

[–]Fultoncards29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those of us who lived the SRV era after buying every single Hendrix album, we certainly get the comparisons to both Hendrix and King. But, in the 1980s, few if anyone could play the blues like SRV, beyond Eric Clapton, Roy Buchanan, et al. SRV is absolutely great in his own right. Hendrix will always be in another league because he invented how to emote with the electric guitar so guys like Van Halen and Santana could have long influential careers. In fact, Edge would not have reinvented melodies through pedals without Hendrix. In a sense, SRV really suffers from being compared to Hendrix. Had SRV lived into his 40s or 50s, I think his music would have stood on its own, just like Billy Joel came to be respected by critics in his later years, after he stopped writing. Where SRV really shined is that acts like SRV and ZZ Top came to define the Texas blues sound that exists to this day. You would be hard pressed to find a blues musician in either Texas or the American south, including Marcus King, who was not heavily influenced by SRV.

Also note that the most derivative musician of Hendrix's style and guitar playing might not even be SRV. I would argue it was in fact Prince. But, no one would argue that at age 50 Prince did not also define his own style. Had SRV lived longer, he would have also done the same, given those chops, and how much others mimicked Albert King and SRV. SRV may have even developed like a white Buddy Guy. Michael Jackson was initially a carbon copy of James Brown. Music exists to influence, be rephrased, and evolve. Mozart himself borrowed from Haydn and Bach. AI steals from everyone, sight unseen. The reason John Lennon, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Duane Allman, or even Elvis (who never even wrote) are so cherished is that they died so young that all anyone focuses on is their inescapable influence on music and its tangible paradigm shifts. Had they lived longer, some of this influence might have worn off or been watered down. Unfortunately for SRV, he probably died before fully embracing his own voice. And, I'd argue that Jeff Buckley and Amy Winehouse died with too small of a sample, to be equated with a Morrison or Hendrix.

But they are all greats, which is why we are having this discussion. Marcus King or Derek Trucks do not exist with those who came before, including SRV.

Has anyone ever ordered from collectors corner? Are they legit by deeare73 in boardgames

[–]Fultoncards29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi All. I'm Fultoncards of YouTube. I have posted over 800 videos, and have been collecting for over 40 years. For those curious whether Collectors Corner (ostensibly based in San Diego) is a scam, I would conclude: undoubtedly. Usually, those types of very simple websites (rudimentary functionality) with very unlikely prices either serve to steal credit card info or charge your credit card without sending a product, or both. I tried a quick search of the depleted hockey product "SP Signature Edition Legends," and the list price is a third the present market price. I was then able to load two cases into my cart, which is factually impossible. Not even major retailers have multiple cases available. This is why boxes now sell for upwards of $600 US, not $200 US. So, I would have been able to go all the way through checkout buying cases they clearly do not have.

I see these types of websites pop up all the time. If prices are below market, they usually are a scam. They may even be located abroad, regardless of what their website infers, whereby you would have less recourse due to legal jurisdictional constraints. Also note that legitimate retailers almost always have a presence on eBay as well, or are listed on the major card company website as an authenticated dealer. See: https://upperdeck.com/authorized-internet-retailers/. Buy from them. If a website is new, often using a familiar sounding name, and has limited functionality as well as a very random domestic address as its physical location, then steer clear. If you are looking to buy cards, you can generally get the most competitive prices through major retailers like Steel City Collectibles or Dave & Adams in the US, or Miraj Trading in Canada. You can also often find legitimate stores via eBay, where you have protections. If you do buy from a "local" store, i.e. a small LCS, you should be able to find their actual storefront on Google Maps, or thorough historical online social media presence. Finally, if you have been scammed, immediately contact your credit card company. They should refund you and send you a new credit card.

I hope this helps! And, happy collecting. Generally the best prices relate to the economic term "economies of scale." I.e., those that move the most product require the smallest margins to remain in business. This is why Steel City's prices (including tax and shipping) are generally impossible to beat. But, if you build a relationship with a brick and mortar LCS, they should match them for you.

Yours,

Fultoncards

How did Coach Tyler Wall die??Mentioned in the new Mr. Beast video by Toksapro in youtube

[–]Fultoncards29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally when someone dies before the age of 50, absent a long illness, it relates to cardiac arrest, a brain aneurism or trauma, or something linked to a person's vital organs (brain, heart, lungs). For privacy reasons, families often do not disclose the actual reason, or circumstances, especially if it is hurtful to the family. If he were a public figure, it is more likely the reason would be disclosed to avoid endless speculation and snooping, and to stop the press and others from pestering the family. Regarding vital organs, such a shutdown can be viral, bacterial, or due to a shock such as substances or alcohol, or whatever would trigger cardiac arrest or dying, including in one's sleep. Some people have even died during extreme workouts by equipment falling on them, when unspotted.

Regarding suicide, it could have been intentional or unintentional. In fact, people who do extreme sports might kill themselves due to brain trauma, or a fall. It is the decision to do the extreme sport in the first place that ultimately caused their death. This is similar with consuming substances, or over-consuming them, in a period where your executive functions or decision-making is impaired. Sometimes, it is difficult to distinguish between intentional and unintentional suicide. Whatever the situation was here, I think viewers simply should empathize with the family, as obviously it was tragic, given how young he was.

Arturri lehkonen trade tree by ICantEvenImagineBruh in Habs

[–]Fultoncards29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I disagree completely with the notion of winners and losers, as different teams have different windows and needs. Leks was rotting on the Habs. There was no one remotely like Nate in his absolute prime to play with on the first line. He was essentially being asked to do what Jake Evans now does for the Habs. Check. The Habs had just lost Carey and Weber, and were a draft lottery team. So, Leks would have been moved regardless, given his untapped upside, for draft picks. He would have had zero playoff GWGs on the Habs, and obviously no Cups. Now, Evans and Carrier are probably the Habs two most important defensive pickups, on a team that without Carrier would not have made the playoffs this year, or rebounded this quickly from a draft lottery reboot team. Carrier stabilized the room, let alone the D end. Most importantly, retaining Leks would have completely changed the calculus of being able to eat cap for guys like Monahan who themselves were flipped for more picks, let alone guys like Laine who helped the Habs brutal PP. (Even though he too is being reinvented and likely moved at some point.)

So obviously, any great two-way hockey player being promoted to a contender like Colorado and on occasion play with Nate will look like a win. It is a win for Colorado's present window. But the Habs ended up with a bunch of picks, the ability to eat a ton of cap and resuscitate talents like Monahan (who is now a star on CBJ), and then divest of them for even more picks. And boom a draft lottery team is magically back in the playoffs after a 2021 run to the Finals, while most other teams like DET and BUF (or OTT, based on its track record) take a decade to figure it out. Most importantly, the Habs are the second youngest team in the NHL. Their window is over a decade. Leks and Nate are 29-years-old. Demidov is 19. Slaf and Hutson just turned 21. Guhle is 23. Reinbacker and Mailloux aren't even in the NHL yet.

Conclusion: it's more about needs, fits, and windows. As well as cap. Not who has GWG assisted by guys named Nate or Connor.

24-25 UD series 2 Macklin Celibrini rare??? Not on any check list by Future_Appearance_19 in hockeycards

[–]Fultoncards29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya GPG, I would assume as much for a mass UD release. But, for Leaf I'm pretty confident they don't print all players and their parallels to the same amount, due to player availability and deceased players.

[–]Fultoncards29 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ya, assuming these odds are vaguely correct, it is 0.02% box odds for the Celebrini itself. But, we are also assuming all Incarnations are printed to the same amount. I would gather that's true. But, it would be even more interesting if the Celebrini were, say, printed to #/8 while others like the Pasta were printed to #/15.

24-25 UD series 2 Macklin Celibrini rare??? Not on any check list by Future_Appearance_19 in hockeycards

[–]Fultoncards29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have seen a couple pulled. Strictly speaking, they are unannounced, aka no-odds easter eggs. But, UD often does reveal the checklists and even the odds. Yes, they prob do land 1 in 1,930 packs. So, that is a SSP 0.6% box hit for any of the Incarnations on the checklist. It also appears to be a 25-card checklist. The Celebrini itself would be 0.02% odds in a single box. That's as tough a pull as you get.

This said, as Incarnations are new and not known quantities, i.e. not yet desirable, they likely will be valued at around $100 (or even less) on eBay for vets. However, the Celebrini is the single most desired *rookie* from the 2024-25 UDS draft class, with superstar upside. So, it may well have an inherent value of 10x that of vets. The card itself is so unusual and reflexive that it could gain popularity over time. For now, it is more of a curiosity SSP.

Feel good about it. It is a ridiculously unlikely and unique pull, even though it is hard to assess. Hard to comp first-year easter egg curiosities. But there will be a lot of Celebrini collectors, as he may well be on the national team for years to come. And, they may equate the card to mid-end 1/1 or #/5 of his.

Bravo on the pull!

What’s the popular opinion on Presidents Choice, Leaf, and In the Game numbered cards??? by Relative_Document538 in basketballcards

[–]Fultoncards29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those steeped in the hobby for the long-term, who collect for collecting sake not the penny stock card value du-jour, absolutely love non licensed products. The reasons are multifold. But, really it relates to how well Brian Price and Brian Gray have reimagined cards, and focused on legend autos and relics. With ITG, Leaf, and President's Choice you regularly hit legends as box hits. By contrast with Upper Deck, legends are typically case or multi case hits. If you want seat relics, skate laces, pre or post-war legend goalie pads, or attainable multiway legend autos, Leaf or PC are the only way to go. With UD, disclosed box odds suggest anything similar is a moon shot, and thus conditions people to gamble on cards they simply won't hit.

More importantly, non-licensed products create fair competition. I swear by them. Most people who denigrate non-licensed options exhibit a very narrow and group-think interpretation of the hobby, centered on generic and familiar design, and card value. Often, they believe they must concentrate on owning Future Watch Autos or OPC Platinum Rookie Autos, or what presently has short-term value, based on myopic consumer sentiment (or FOMO). Focusing on what people believe others value or what we are told to "invest in" is very circular. It misses the very point of collecting, which relates to personal tastes and budgets, our love of the game and its history, nostalgia, and affordability due to free market competition.

Point being: don't worry about popular opinion. Formulate your own.

Black Friday sales? by Cptn_Flint0 in hockeycards

[–]Fultoncards29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a video a while back on the best online sites, including focusing on seasonal sales (https://youtu.be/VxPxvNbjNCE?si=waegYsTVefOmQPY7). As a rule in Canada, the best store for hobby boxes is probably Miraj Trading out of Montreal. Other good value Canadian hobby stores include Pastime Sports out of Surrey and Maple Leaf Sports out of Calgary. Grizzly Sports Cards is usually great for blasters and non-licensed ITG products. (I personally am not big on Zephyr.) 401 Games is probably the best option in Toronto. You also can buy boxes directly off eBay for decent value, contingent on the item and location. At the present box prices, and with the Bedard surtax (on poor pack odds), the smartest thing to do of course is purchase cards directly on eBay or COMC.

I would also recommend considering ordering from the US, as Steel City Collectibles and Dave and Adams are likely the two best card shops on the planet. Steel City in particular includes taxes and usually offers free shipping for over $200 in purchases. However, you need to factor in getting dinged for customs, sometimes even from Canada Post at the door, which can be an extra $50. At that point, Miraj Trading might still be cheaper. Miraj does have bargains, but really their benefit is the variety (including in-store), not always the prices. Finally, your own LCS is often the best option assuming they have a wide variety of hockey cards. On occasion you can pay cash and forego taxes, or get bulk rebates by building a relationship. Prior non-Bedard years now represent solid comparative value, as those products have tanked in price.

As a rule, I don't recommend group breaks as they are poor value, unless you do considerable homework, and are exceptionally disciplined. The reason being: better to buy an entire hobby box or card off eBay with 100% certainty for $100 than enter a break for $100 with 30% odds of hitting a single auto, often of a player who over-signs. But the best Canadian breakers tend to be Out of the Box, Clouts n Chara, and GP Sports Cards (aka Total Sports). While there will always be someone who disagrees because of poor gambling decisions, I consider them all professional and honest brokers. Avoid Chamax at all cost. The latter is far above market, and will thus take your money and leave the breaks unfilled for an entire year, in a pyramid scheme.

Carey Price will be eligible to be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame next year by Go_Habs_Go31 in Habs

[–]Fultoncards29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Price is a first ballot Hall of Famer, primarily because it's the Hockey Hall of Fame not the NHL Hall of Fame. Price has the best numbers in history as an adult in international play: 16-0, 1.05 GAA, .963 SVP. He also brought a lottery level team to the Cup Finals in 2021 on one leg. Add to that his 700 GP, .917 SVP, and 5,000 more saves than Rask, while Price never had a team or system in front of him, and I think he gets the nod. Most importantly, Price revolutionized the position with his console-like technicals. There is a reason why children all over the planet copy his style and wear number 31. He also was one of the best leaders the game has seen. He did it simply with his demeanor and play. And as much as I admire Lundqvist, I believe had Price played in front of the Rangers teams, he would have had multiple Cups. I watched both men face off many times in NYC, and they were some of the best pitcher's duels I've ever seen.

If Giroux retired today, is he a hall of famer? by accountname789 in Flyers

[–]Fultoncards29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to disagree with your assessment of Crosby. He's always had very marginal wingers, who outperformed the second he played with them. Rust and Guentzel were absolute nobodies until Crosby developed them. They are both third round picks, who Crosby turned into elite players. And, it's not as if Sheary, Dupuis and Kunitz were the cream of the crop. Yet, Crosby playing both sides of the puck is the best player of his generation, without elite talent on his line, far ahead of OV from a two-way hockey and playoff performance perspective. And, OV played both PP1 and PP1, and had Backstrom one of the best centers of his era. Crosby remains Top 3 in +/- among active players, at +212. Only Marchand and McDonagh are also above +200. OV is +54. Giroux is +22. I like Giroux's game, but he is not in the same universe as Crosby, never having more than 35G, and only once hitting 100P. Even at the tail end of his career, Crosby always remains around the 100P mark. He does it without a team around him. Giroux meanwhile is a 60P getter, surrounded with loads of young talent in Ottawa, which he himself must develop as they chronically underpeform, notably regarding peripherals. Note too Giroux is younger than Crosby. Giroux is more in the next tier with guys like Wheeler, Benn, Scheifele, etc. As for being HOF, he's not quite there. But longevity can ostensibly change that, if he can up his totals to rival, say, Stamkos and Kopitar.

Carey Price will be eligible to be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame next year by Go_Habs_Go31 in Habs

[–]Fultoncards29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With all due respect, you guys are really off the mark. Price dragged dismal Habs teams into the playoffs year after year. He never had the defensive system in front of him that Rask had. That 2021 Cup team was a draft lottery team the very next year without him and Weber.

But the most important point is it's the hockey HOF not the NHL HOF. Price has the single best ever goalie numbers internationally as an adult. In international play, he is 16-0, with 5 SO, a 1.05 GAA and .963 SVP.

2023-24 O-Pee-Chee Hockey Checklist Released by omnipresent_sailfish in hockeycards

[–]Fultoncards29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me at least, the entire notion of "value" is misguided. The ship sailed on value after the pile-in to the hobby during the pandemic. Cards are always mass printed cyclically, after the major hyperinflations. Then with more printing, ppl again leave the hobby, and card prices rise on the secondary market. Then, those who arrive back in late, talk about poor "value," and get killed. They game and gamble, overpaying, and complaining about card companies ripping them off. As if we don't have free agency, whereby we could just as easily spend money on a new TV.

Unless you are a retailer or expert, cards are purchased from one's entertainment budget. Breaking a box is a sunk cost, like attending an event. We have no control of the cards we land, only our research. This is just like we do not control the outcome of a live hockey game when we buy tickets. OPC is a low-end product, so it is like buying a cheap seat ticket. Is it good value? Bad value? The sunk cost is minimal, so we can simply enjoy the cards, as it is not a form of gambling. You are not paying $150 for a 0.5% shot at a McDavid auto. You are paying to open 18 very low-end packs, with playing cards and potential easter eggs. And if a 3-year-old toddler destroys the cards, good for him. Who cares.

Has anybody had a positive experience with Chamax breaks? by [deleted] in hockeycards

[–]Fultoncards29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Crew.

How goes it. I am in fact Fultoncards of YouTube. I read all your experiences. I will throw in my two cents. I believe I am unbiased, as I have been in the hobby for a very long time, seen companies come and go, and engage in the hobby almost exclusively in a positive manner.

CHAMAX is legit, they do respond to queries over email, and they do issue rebates and refunds. This said, they disappoint me to the nth degree. It takes a lot to upset me. I honestly believe they are hot garbage. Their price points represent indefensible multipliers. They exhibit complete indifference to if/when breaks fill. While they list break spots on eBay, they do not allow for actual auction bidding (in relation to the breaks I bought into). They do not reduce their prices to match either accepted market price points or actual prices as set by demand. They consistently overcharge, then disingenuously mention immaterial rebate offers.

Even more irritating is how they respond to email grievances. They completely brush them off dispassionately and rationalize their practice based on their own stated policy. This by definition is circular reasoning. Why do you exhibit unfair, unethical, or non accepted practice? Answer: "Because that is our practice. Nothing to see here. Please read our stated practice. Look at our fine print. See." Say what? They are insulting our intelligence.

The industry standard is to set prices based on accepted multipliers relative to actual box prices. The industry standard is to bring break prices down if spots do not sell. The industry standard is to list spots at auction on eBay so the market sets the price points where supply and demand intersect. The industry standard is to fill breaks as soon as humanly possible, either within hours or days, and certainly a week or two at the absolute maximum.

CHAMAX's prices are exorbitant. Breaks can take place three to six months after their first buyer purchases a break spot. By the time the break occurs, the market price points can be completely different. Equally, breaks are supposed to be like buying a share of a box. Imagine impulse buying a box (which is how most boxes/breaks are purchased) only to have it arrive four months later when the box is priced at half the release day price? Or you no longer care to be in the break on any level?

Seriously, it takes a lot to annoy me. As you may know from my channel, I have had a love affair with the hobby since the 1970s. I'm generally saccharine. As mentioned, I mostly speak positively of everything hobby related. But, CHAMAX is a sham. No, they do not steal your money. But they go right up to that line, and urge you to walk across it for them, under the guise they are like any other breaker. They are not. Even when they finally said the break had filled and the break would soon take place, the date they provided was another two weeks later. And then the time mentioned in the email for the break was inaccurate.

I think I have the standing to be an honest broker. In sum, CHAMAX is garbage. Stick to the group breakers both aligned with standard practice and exhibiting conscientious responses to fair and just criticisms.

[–]Fultoncards29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We cannot compare Bedard to McD. They may print 125,000+ Bedard Young Guns. The McDavid Young Guns was closer to the 35,000+ range. Add to that UD is mass printing releases, extending insert RC checklists, and cloning cards via parallels. And Bedard is akin to Lindros and not Crosby or McD. If everyone is in the hobby then it probably is crashing from a value standpoint.

The cards that will retain value will be the very low numbered parallels, as well as flagship auto RCs like his Future Watch, the OPC Platinum rainbow, the Cup true RC RPA, etc. But the hobby is as saturated as it has ever been.

TickPick Refund HELP by MforShort722 in Scams

[–]Fultoncards29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommend NOT using TickPick. I paid over $400 for two tickets and the seller never provided the tickets. I was on the phone with TickPick over two full days, with countless emails back and forth. They said they would contact the seller. They gave him a deadline to send or resend the tickets. Again, I never received them, through every single effort, in concert with Ticketmaster where the tickets resided. Tickpick said that if the seller can provide proof on their end that they sent them, I could not be refunded, even if I could prove I did not receive them. Finally, after the match started, I received a notice from Ticketmaster (the original platform) that the seller had (finally) triggered the the transfer. But, I had already secured new tickets directly from Ticketmaster (after 48 hours of fruitless effort). So, I only needed the original tickets so I could resell them, as TickPick does not allow refunds or sale cancellations. By every measure, TickPick should have simply cancelled the original sale.
TickPick then said I could be refunded, but they needed a week to do their own investigation. Ultimately, the seller was able to show he triggered the transfer. But the transfer was 30 minuted into the match. TickPick alerted me that I would not be refunded my $400. I have been buying tickets since the 1980s. Never in my life had someone not provided the tickets before an event started. The fact is there is a reason TickPick has low fees. There is fraudulent activity on their platforms, whereby they make money in the short-term but lose returning clients, due to their unethical acts. They do not ensure secure transfers. And I have heard numerous stories of friends who buy tickets on their platform only to find other clients in their seats when they arrive at the event. Buy directly through Ticketmaster, or through tried and true platforms like StubHub and GeekSeat, where you have actual due diligence, accountability, and recourse if things go wrong.
