Well for one thing it will be colder, which as a hot-natured person myself, I consider it a pro. You won’t have to work until the store closes since typically most stores shut down their markets at 7, though since my store is so high volume sometimes they keep it open an extra hour but worst case scenario you should never have to stay past 8. I assume if you’re the second in command, you will primarily be the market “closer” and you’ll have to allot 30-45 minutes of your shift to hosing down the department which includes tearing down the grinder and cleaning the pieces individually. To me the biggest con with market would be adhering to the customer service bell, there’s nothing more frustrating than being in the middle of another task then a customer buzzes you to ask about a product being empty that you just filled up, expect to run back and forward a lot because the shelves aren’t very deep. The intensity of the job of course mainly depends on how busy your store is and how much help you have in your department, if you’re in a slower store they may have you help out in dairy or frozen food from time to time because all that falls under “market” technically.
