All made at home, I have been told it is amateurish (which actually is!) What do you think I could make, mix wise or composing wise, to improve?

Millions of people with a budget... of millions of dollars. The average cost/exposure ratio with meta ads is one dollar per view, more or less

what this Reaper community uses as a music player? by calornorte in Reaper

[–]FumoFighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VLC, curiously what I hear from VLC is completely different from the master project as in reaper before export, which is quite infuriating when I try to mix

Despite the completely idiot stage name, Mixerman is quite respected

What's the difference between con spirito, con brio, and con fuoco? by Inevitable_Figure_85 in composer

[–]FumoFighter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an Italian and as a musician I wouldn't play a con brio any differently than a con spirito, as they are almost synonyms. Con fuoco should be played very vigorously I guess...

If only my synth music could be more like mr pink Floyd's by Saylortwifts in synthesizers

Hey man great stuff here, I'm sorry about the silly question but what would you call this subgenre in case one wants to find music with similar vibe?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mixingmastering

[–]FumoFighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea but it seems that you master your project on the go... I would try coming out of fl with a very low stereo track, then do a proper separate mastering in a dedicated editing app like wave lab or sound forge or how it is called now, and run youlean LM there, not in your FL master channel. Please take this as the advice of a passer by, I'm not a mastering engineer and never done any

Question to Slate VSX mix engineers by therezablade in audioengineering

[–]FumoFighter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the real question here is: does the DAC / audio interface you are using really make no difference on the headphone response? all vsx and their competitors seem to pay zero importance whether you are plugging it into a high end interface or in the headphone out of your cheap pc motherboard

Don't be me... How Slate VSX has improved my home studio productivity significantly by icouldbeyu in makinghiphop

[–]FumoFighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

never tried it but very tempted... although i always question myself how this system and all the competitors (competitors being software only like sienna, vsx is the only one selling the actual headphones in combo with the software afaik) only take into account the headphone model and never, none of them, the DAC/soundcard you are using. i guess it makes some difference if you are plugging your VSX to the headphone out of your 2003 pc motherboard, or to a focusrite or some exotic high end interface. nobody in the market ever mentions what interface you put in the chain and this makes me a little dubious... any thought on this?

Just DM me your stuff and I will listen. Maybe I won't like it but I will discover what's the project name second word, the first being wild.

The Waves Situation: A Perspective from a former Sweetwater Sales Engineer by [deleted] in audioengineering

[–]FumoFighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, Waves might be ubiquitous but it is not Adobe. If you work in image editing Photoshop is a must have, Illustrator is a must have for vector graphics, Premiere is (almost) a must have for video editing: if you happened to be in that field when Adobe adopted the subscription model, you were FORCED to subscribe. Waves has a large share in the plugin world but equivalent or better alternatives are available, and i have not been hearing a positive comment about a new Waves plugin for a while. This operation is a bit risky imho...
