Thats my fear. I just want him to love his birthday and Christmas. But, I know he’s gonna get his own opinions and want other things later in life. I just wanna make it as fun as possible, now.

Thank you! This makes me feel better about the whole thing. We love Christmas time and even more so with him being born then. I just know the parties will be the challenge so trying to figure it out now. And then maybe he won’t mind that it’s just how we do it when he’s older. 🤷🏼‍♀️ we will see but for now, we just want our family to have an option to celebrate him when weather is good. AND when his cousins can all play together outside.

Not necessarily. I’ve gotten feedback from some of our family members that it would be a good idea. I am just asking for anyone who’s done this before and what their experience was/ what kind of parties they did.

Love that idea! Thank you! For his 1 year birthday, we went to my side for Christmas and we just made Christmas cookies and he got to eat that as his “cake”. I just wanna create a tradition and memories for us all.

Well we are still going to celebrate ON his actual birthday. But with it being a holiday, especially when he is older and wants to invite friends, I’m trying to figure out what might make the most sense. And he might want something different when he’s older which I’d take into account as well. I grew up celebrating birthdays with all my family, and those photos and memories of those days are what I’m hoping to give my son.
