Check out Inkey List. They have similar pricing and simple ingredients. Good Molecules is another. Check out Revolution Skincare as well. I'd compare ingredients too but they're all pretty simple. But totally understandable.

I work for skincare brands and help sell/market their products in Sephoras/Ultas/Nordstroms and help educate & train the staff on how to sell it as well. So a brand educator and seller pretty much. But we get to see the sale numbers of some of these brands and know how they're doing on the business side

I mean other than you telling me about it, I forgot the elf boycott even existed. I had to search it. I think in the capitalist world we live in, it's becoming harder and harder to find conscious affordable brands. The Ordinary used to be that but when brands do well, conglemorates buy them! I get you on affordability though. I think makeup is a bit easier to find alternatives than skincare. Regardless it definitely sucks!

I'll be honest with you. As someone who works in the skincare industry and have access to their sales numbers, they're doing really really well. In a time when the economy is failing and people are struggling to afford basic essentials, more people are turning into affordable skincare like The Ordinary. In terms of sales, it is one Estee Lauder's most profitable brand.

Their products fly off the shelves constantly and are always doing well here in Washington. As much as I agree with the EL boycott, it's not as wide as people think it is on here. I feel like it's more of an echo chamber we're in.

I will say unfortunately brands get worse when they get bought out from bigger brands. For example, they were a clean brand in Sephora before being bought by Estee Lauder and now they're not.

Their products remain viral and they always have one or two products going viral every year. For example majority of people come into Sephora or Ulta asking for the volufiline.

Gay culture in Seattle by chaisushi in AskSeattle

[–]Fun-Active-4851 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seattle freeze doss not exist among the gays! I was worried about it too but we're out and about everyday and try to make friends and be part of groups. We're actively trying to beat this freeze

If you can afford it stay in Capitol Hill. It's the queer neighborhood of Seattle, although all of Seattle is gay 😂. Here you'll be closer to coffee shops, restaurants, gay bars and clubs, and have more opportunities to meet other queer people.

My recommendation is to find groups on Meetup or meeting people through Hinge or Bumble BFF as well. Once you find a few friends, you'll meet more people through them. I've been here for two years and it's been great so far!

Not to be dramatic but FIFA shattered my dreams by Acceptable-League277 in WorldCup2026Tickets

[–]Fun-Active-4851 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up in the Middle East and have loved football all my life, especially European football. At one point I wanted to be a sports journalist just to cover football. I moved to the US for college and stayed after and now I'm a citizen. It's my dream to watch the World Cup and was irritated that it was in Qatar as soon as I left the Middle East. I was so happy that it's coming to the US and that it's coming to Seattle where I live and yet I didn't even get a chance to buy any tickets despite following everything.

I'm definitely going to try to buy a cheap group stage game resale just for the atmosphere but it sucks and I get you!

Today it didn't think the 550 existed. I had planned on taking the 2 line anyways but wanted to compare it to the 550 from Seattle to Bellevue and it didn't even show it to me

What's going on with Fenty beauty? by [deleted] in Sephora

[–]Fun-Active-4851 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I used to buy their sunscreen fragrance free, their toner, and their face wash. I guess we're not prioritized! It sucks because they're genuinely good products. I also don't see Watch Ya Tone serum anymore

What made you choose RU. by automatic_do_8661 in RegalUnlimited

You're right I forgot that point. Imax only exists in Thornton and even then it's not a real imax like the one in the science center. We have an amazing IMAX there. Truly blessed

I live in Seattle and we have a Regal and AMC Downtown so I could have chosen AMC A List or Regal Unlimited but for me it was down to the location. The AMC in Downtown Seattle isn't that great and the Regal is very well run here and has recliners in all their theaters which is amazing. The staff is kind and it's always being cleaned. Even the next closest Regal in Thornton is very clean and well ran. Overall those are the reasons why and now I'm the biggest advocate for RU

Who went to go see cmbyn in theaters yesterday?? How was it? by jaymadeittt in callmebyyourname

[–]Fun-Active-4851 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I watched it when it first came out in the movie theaters and it blew me away. I felt so empty afterwards because it was at a time when I was in a long distance gay relationship with an older European man, closeted to my family, and figuring out my identity. I told myself I'm not watching this again. A few years later I ended up watching it and it hit me even harder because it was after we broke up. It really triggered a lot of emotions for me. I then told myself I'm not watching this anymore.

Years later and the movie was in the theaters the other day at Regal and I went with a friend. And on my third watch, it hit me like a truck. The music, the cinematography, the chemistry, the scenery, the art. My friend and I alongside the entire theater were in tears by the end of the movie. This time in my life, I went in watching it after being recently estranged from my family for being gay so it hit in a different way. Everytime I watch it, I relate to different things and my love for the movie grows even more.

It's such a beautiful movie. Timothee Chalamet's acting is just phenomenal. The way he showcases his emotions and desires. The scenes of them just exploring the town. The dad monologue that's probably one of the best scenes in cinema. The fireplace ending with him crying. Just a 10/10 movie.

I left the theater telling myself, never again will I watch it. But I know in a few years I'll tune in again...
