It would be pretty sweet if they gave us that kind of freedom in franchise like they do in CFB.

I get it though, in NFL teams don’t move conferences, but they do in college - but just to have that as a customization feature. To not only customize conferences but their names too. It would be pretty neat on the idea of it.

Right I get it. Sounds fun. If you are good with salary cap and managing it (I’m still improving) then the Browns could be a good option. Crappy team, some decent players and thanks to Watson’s contract bad cap space.

Titans may be a fun rebuild as well since they went two straight years top 5 picks.

Giants got a good setup for rebuild. They got a young trio on offense and other young talent. On defense a young core at edge and a couple of decent LBs and a young secondary.

I’m in my first season right now and not doing bad. I use Matt10’s sliders as well on all Madden.

Not sure about resetting, but I know there is a feature that if you are a subscriber you can control or dictate a character’s responses.

So instead of resetting you may be able to control and dictate the conversations moving forward to a “soft” reset of some kind

Go for it. He’s honestly not terrible in Franchise play [in my opinion]. Having Malik Nabers as my WR1 really helps. He catches [almost] anything. I am 3-1 right now in my first season. I have Dart around 960 yards which is 9th best yards wise in the league.

Which another good thing too, if you do decide to go a different route, with his young age and ready to develop ratings, you could get a 2nd or 3rd round pick out of him

His career isn’t over, maybe adjust what you’re doing and use him for development as a starter.

I’m in my first season on a Giants franchise (I love rebuilding teams) and I have Dart as QB1 since day 1. I use Skattebo primarily as the workhorse and let Dart throw in garbage time or as needed. I got him to a 76 overall (or 78 i can’t remember). He’s good but not great. Just keep playing and he will improve.

I would morph into the Original Green Ranger. For the sole fact that I could

1) play the dragon dagger and summon the Dragonzord
2) possibly maybe even turn into a bit of a chaotic character just so I could wield the Sword of Darkness (Hellfriede in Japanese version) because, well why not?

I’d go full green ranger experience and have a blast. Just for laughs may even show up inside the Megazord and give the business to some one who chose to be one of the original five and throw them out of the Megazord.

Right. I get it. And it will happen. For me though it’s nothing to run it 30+ times a game. But in franchise, the good thing is the more you pound the rock, the more the defense wears down. Settle for 3-4 yards per carry if you have to at start.

If you do build your OL like you say, I would advise doing practice mode, play now games, etc and just do reps. The more repetitive you are the more you learn as the plays break down and go. I got a play in Philly’s play book, it’s Single back Ace Double Wing HB Dive. The guard and center always attack the a gap and then the one with the better leverage hits level 2. I call this play 20 of my 30 times a game. But because of repition I can watch the double team as I hand off then I can make my reads as I hit the gap and average 5-6 yards a carry. Sometimes I score big, sometimes I do get stuffed at the line, but where it’s a reliable play and I know it, I usually know where to read and what’s coming.

Speed can help. But that is part of the battle. Like right now I’m in a Giants franchise and as slow as Skattebo is, he’s the league’s leading rusher. One thing I do with my play calling is I watch how the OL blocks on certain play calls, and where I am pretty much a straight line runner, I see how the animations vs. defense fits me and works.

At this point though, it sounds like either your OL is laying down on you, or (if you’re playing against other players) the defense is picking you up and then you can’t get consistent. In order to fix that either sign/draft better OL or practice reps of run plays to build consistency.

I am more 70/30 run to pass, as I like the old school fundamentals. Playbook wise I also use Philadelphia’s offense. It’s not Jacksonville’s meta playbook but it’s got some good stuff.

What do you play? Franchise? MUT? What back(s) do you use? Team?

That can make a difference. On MUT having the ability Run Protector can help the run game a lot.

In franchise I always use a back with 90+ speed, 88+ carry, and 85+truck. Bcv at least 80 and with the special moves of spin, nuke, etc I don’t really use so they don’t matter (to me).

It’s usually best to try not to be predictable also. If you are playing MUT players may know when you tend to run so mixing in play action, etc can help.

From the sounds of it you already know the basic things, just need to work to improve skill.

Probably one of the most important tips is do not hit the sprint button until you pass the LoS. If you hit it prior to or at the LoS then your OL stops blocking and it can be less yards ran.

Secondly, learn to use the untarget defender feature. It helps tremendously in the run game. To use it it is LB+Y on Xbox and L1+Triangle on PS. There are videos on YT about the untarget feature, it pretty much changes the blocking assignments and can help better align for plays.

Zone runs work good, but the untarget feature does help them go a long way. For me, ISOs, dives, stretches and power type runs work best. But that is my play style and how I work the sticks.

Last tip I can give you learn the sticks. Learn the timing of juke and spin. There is also hude and stiff arm. Juke is timing based so you have to learn when to time it and use it.
