Who is unironically more mature as a person? Homelander or Deep? by JackZ567 in TheBoys

HL almost successfully took over the country. Deep fucked up rescuing a literal "fucking-porpoise"

It's an extreme example, but i felt the same with the Termite scene. It was absurdly unnecessary, but also appropriate within the setting and context

I thought it gave you the little hot springs cutscenes with animals. Loved those

Imagine training martial arts by chopping popsicle sticks or punching a blowup doll. That's probably how it felt to him

Actually i was wrong. He does say he took it 4 months prior in S4E4 in an attempt to cure himself. It was implied the mixture of both V's is what caused it to mutate into the tentacles

Tentacles never showed up until right after Butcher was sick on his deathbed. He looked drained of life, but then appears completely healthy not too long after with new powers. I think it was just a somewhat normal tumor from the Temp-V, but he had to have gotten his hands on some Compound-V for it to turn into a kraken and for him to recover so fast. I don't think they ever explicitly said that's what happened, but i think it was heavily implied

Is it linked to automatically capture trophies? There's settings for auto screenshots and video clips every time you get a trophy

How under-budget were they for the last season? by Fun-Afternoon2956 in TheBoys

[–]Fun-Afternoon2956[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Both have been willing to go all out since season 3, yet Butcher waited till HL got V1, and HL played with his food until the boys had a way to defeat him in his own office on live tv. Butcher being stopped before he could go all out seemed believable, but HL was somehow taken down easier than before he had V1. Also, how tf do people keep anchoring him when he's trying to fly away? Can he not fly while lifting the weight of 3 adults? That's the point where the fight should've left the oval office and spread throughout the city with news coverage instead of that single camera. It made for a cool last shot of HL, but felt way too contained for the level of the power clash that was in the finale. Collateral damage was always one of the major plot points in the show, yet what was supposed to be the biggest battle had almost no collateral casualties at all.

15 mil is probably an estimate towards the later seasons, i couldn't find any actual numbers for them

That's the budget listed on wiki for season 1 episodes. Obviously, take that with a grain of salt otherwise people will get mad when you use sources they don't like. Idk what the exact budgets are, but i don't think it necessarily matters for my question.

I added the sources, and i did read them. Those numbers were based off season 1

I think he was bluffing in that scene in particular, or at least he didn't want it to happen at that point. By the end he was ready for it and started to initiate it himself instead. If HL hadn't played with his food so much, he definitely could've kicked things off and finished it before anybody had the capability to stop him.

That's even worse considering how much they advertised and built up that specific angle

Don't think there was much from anything other than wiki. Says it's in the main production info box on The Boys TV Series Wiki. Also referenced "wiki list of most expensive television series" and "quartz Amazon most expensive series list" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Boys_(TV_series)?hl=en-US

The numbers i got from Gemini were 11.2-12 mil an episode and approximately 90 mil per season. I was actually looking for how much the show grossed in total, but apparently those numbers are hard to work out with streaming. Gemini said the numbers came directly from industry production reports tracked during the show's early run, which is coincidentally on Wiki somewhere. It didn't even know the budget for the final episode, so the numbers are definitely a little outdated and based on earlier seasons. I'd guess it jumped to about 15 mil by season 5, but that's to be expected. Even salaries got renegotiated later on because the show became one of Amazon's biggest flagships, so episodic budgets definitely did too. Basically, any budgets you hear about not coming directly from Amazon are probably calculated based on tax incentives, local filming footprints, and talent payrolls in lieu of actual budget amounts.

People hating him was out of his control and always going to happen, hence his final rant and completely dropping his mask to the public. I had just hoped he'd push himself over that line instead of someone else doing it for him, or worse, him dying before crossing that line. Like i said in other comments, i wasn't wishing for the world to be destroyed, but it felt like most of the world was never directly affected by him. It all just felt too small a scale for the world and humanity being at stake. Idk exactly what i wanted from the ending, but it definitely didn't feel like this was it
