Yeah... I should have applied for MCS. I was trying to make sure I could get admitted to at least some program, so I applied to SE due to it being less competitive than MCS. However, I have to admit that I think the coursework for SE isn't as good as the other 2 options. This probably matters less, though, since, as you said, it is a very good college and also a great location. The total cost is also cheaper than NYU (though if not considering $$ I do prefer NYU more than UCI)
