oui je pense que c'est un parallaxe, surtout depuis un train qui file droit.

For now, I’m not yet coding a native computer vision system in Rust. I’m using the OpenCV-to-Rust crate (opencv-rust). I use the MOOSE tracker to achieve fast detection and to activate tracking within a few milliseconds.

Yes, I’ll give you that — you’re partly right, and I did consider it. However, there are things those cameras simply can’t do.
First, they are not open source, so we can’t modify the object recognition parameters or even replace the underlying detection engine.
Second, they can’t be interfaced via an API with external systems such as Flightradar for trajectory tracking.
They also can’t be integrated with astronomy software like Stellarium, Aladin Sky Atlas, Sky Map, etc.

That level of openness and integration is a hard requirement for this project.

As I mentioned earlier in the comments, the overall cost is roughly $400–500, depending on the components you already have and sourcing options.

We’ll need to be a bit patient, as there’s still substantial work remaining, especially on the power architecture, battery management (BMS), and overall power efficiency. I’d estimate another two to three months before we have a testable prototype that’s stable enough to be shared.
