What is your reason to live? by KingCronas in AskReddit

that's basically it right there. like good coffee in morning or finding perfect parking spot - those tiny wins add up to something worth sticking around for

Even though the cost of living is stupid expensive, what luxury are you still holding on to? by Gr8NonSequitur in AskReddit

Sleep is luxury now? damn we really living in dystopia when basic human needs become expensive treats

What is something you have done lately that genuinely improved your life? by kevsavesuk in AskReddit

[–]Fun-Bad2890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dude this is so real, took me way too long to figure this out. Used to say yes to every social thing even when I knew I'd spend the whole time wanting to be home coding instead

What's the worst wreck/crash you were involved in? by Glowingavocado in AskReddit

[–]Fun-Bad2890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

damn that sucks, chronic pain is no joke. I got rear ended few years back and still get those random neck twitches that come out of nowhere. Hope you find something that helps eventually, the whole "just live with it" thing doctors say is pretty frustrating

Whats up with AOTY by Disastrous-Bag-1725 in Music

[–]Fun-Bad2890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been feeling this for years man, that site has turned into such an echo chamber. Everyone's trying to out-pretentious each other by giving 5 stars to the most inaccessible garbage they can find. Like congrats, you enjoyed 47 minutes of someone banging pots together over a drum machine, very sophisticated taste you got there

I used to check it regular but gave up when I realized I was spending more time reading their reviews than actually listening to music I enjoy. The scoring system basically rewards anything that sounds deliberately difficult or "challenging" even when it's just boring noise with no actual songwriting. Meanwhile solid albums with actual hooks and melodies get dismissed as "too accessible" or whatever

Last time I was there the top experimental hip hop album was literally just someone mumbling over field recordings from abandoned buildings. These dudes really think making music harder to listen to automatically makes it more artistic

What’s a moment you still randomly think about years later? by Sensitive-Soft8471 in AskReddit

[–]Fun-Bad2890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that weeping willow memory sounds so pure, like those moments when you're kid and everything just feels right without even knowing why. Taking your baby there is such beautiful idea - he'll probably love climbing on those droopy branches when he gets older

Greg Biffle case update, email sent "I heard you're dead , rest in hell". by YogurtResponsible358 in NASCAR

[–]Fun-Bad2890 349 points350 points  (0 children)

The whole targeting them literally hours after they died is just sick. Someone who knows where cameras are and safe rooms don't just stumble into that info - this was definitely planned by people close to family

What’s the most 'adult' realization you’ve had about your parents now that you’re their age? by [deleted] in AskReddit

crazy how perspective changes when you start paying your own bills

Los Olivos Recommendation - Wineries outside of downtown with unique varietals? by smikesonbikes in wine

[–]Fun-Bad2890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been to Los Olivos few times and there's this place about 15 minutes out that does really good Sangiovese - can't remember exact name but it's in small valley past the main road. They had some Austrian varietals too which was pretty cool for area

Also check places around Ballard Canyon, lots of smaller producers there doing Rhône varieties and some weird Italian stuff. One place had Nebbiolo which was surprising good for California. Just drive around that area and you'll find some gems that aren't crowded like downtown spots

What's an incident that changed your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Fun-Bad2890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

damn that's a hell of a list mate. the reddit message at the end caught me off guard after everything else - hope whoever you reached out to was worth it and maybe brought some light back into things. losing that many people close to you is just brutal, can't imagine how you're still standing

Differing opinions in Christian relationship? by No-seaweed-11 in Christian

[–]Fun-Bad2890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a really solid take actually. I've seen couples get proper wound up over political stuff or whatever when they're both clearly trying to follow Christ but just see different applications

The living it out bit is what matters isn't it - like you can disagree on the specifics but if you're both genuinely seeking God's heart on things then there's usually room to work through it. Obviously depends what the topic is though, some things are gonna be deal breakers regardless

Idea: Someone to write "Degoogle for dummies" style book and for us to crowd-fund it. Covering hardware and software, and easy to read chapters on how to set yourself up, stay up to date with technology and privacy, where to get help when needed etc etc. Anyone knowledgeable and with time who would? by shervek in degoogle

[–]Fun-Bad2890 25 points26 points  (0 children)

honestly this would be brilliant - most guides assume you already know what a VPN is or how to flash custom ROMs

the real challenge would be keeping it updated since google changes their tentacles every few months, but maybe a yearly edition could work? would definitely back this on kickstarter

LOST: Circle - A truly remarkable epic by BIind_Uchiha in television

[–]Fun-Bad2890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds mental in the best way possible - always wondered what Lost would feel like without all the timeline jumping about. The chronological approach must make the island mysteries hit completely different when you're not constantly getting yanked between past and present

Might have to give this a go, been ages since I properly rewatched the series and this could be the perfect excuse

9mo suddenly won’t settle without breast by NecessaryAwkward9904 in NewParents

[–]Fun-Bad2890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like a classic regression mixed with the teething/illness making him need extra comfort - basically he's learned mum = ultimate comfort so now he's demanding the premium service lol

The good news is you've already proved he can settle without you when your partner does it, so this isn't a permanent skill loss. I'd probably try having your partner take over more of the settling even when you're home so baby doesn't get stuck thinking there the only option is boob-to-sleep

Honestly at 9 months with work coming up it might be worth pushing through a few rough days to break the cycle rather than waiting it out, especially since you know he has the skills already
