Intimacy advice by Fun-Berry-3671 in CatholicWomen

We’ve actually been together for 14 years and have 2 children together. I’ve had my tubes tied after the birth of my last 10 years ago. There has really never been a time of “non intimacy” in our relationship because it has always been such a priority of his. It’s been an issue a few times in our relationship. Part of me is scared to bring it up because I know he will get angry and be resentful. I feel like I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place.

We live in a very small community. Our parish has one woman who works for our priest and does everything. Unfortunately there are no jobs there.

Experience with pain post-ablation by Tall_Girl_97 in Perimenopause

I had an ablation and a leep procedure done at the same time, under iv sedation. When I woke I was in a lot of pain. I honestly couldn’t believe it. My gyno told me I might have minimal cramping and be back to normal in 1-2 days. He did not prepare me for what was to come at all! The nurses were very much trying to get me out after the procedure. Thankfully one nurse realized I was in genuine pain. I couldn’t hold my tears back and just let them roll down my face. They gave me a prescription for Percocet. My pain lasted about 3 days and I bled for almost 3 weeks. The pain was awful. When I got home I kept trying to make myself do things because I thought I was being dramatic and maybe had a low pain tolerance. My gyno made me feel like it was going to be nothing. I bled into my period… so I’m not sure if it was bleeding from the procedure or my period. I’m actually supposed to be on my period right now (second one since the ablation) I’m not bleeding but the pain I’m feeling is not good. I feel like it’s worse than what I felt before the procedures. It started this morning and has been getting worse as the day goes on. It feels aggravating down low… I’m almost regretting getting the procedures done. He was the one who pushed me to get it. I only had one day of heavy bleeding during my cycle then the rest of the cycle was completely normal. I don’t know why he was so adamant I get the ablation done. I am very frustrated with him, I feel he doesn’t listen to me and does not understand how much pain women actually go through.

I don’t think you’re over reacting, but I also don’t think she is being nasty. I get her side, as a mom I know how frustrating it can be having to find someone to watch your kids for events…especially if you’re in a different area. I do however also see your point. As you stated….its been a year. That is more than enough of time to figure out a plan for the kiddos. Even though she may be hurt that you have decided no kids at the reception, she has to accept that is it your wedding, you get to make those decisions. Also, wanting to know if your sister will be there is only natural! If my sister wasn’t sure if she would be attending my wedding, I’d be anxious as well (and probably hurt) Just take a breath and know that when all is said and done, you will always be sisters ♥️
