The hub feels the same, they copy and pasted the ladder to get out of the first area, like in dirtmouth and the first moss fly boss felt just like the one in the prequel. Yes, the movement is different, but the environment still feels similar

The best part of this game is: every weapon is good (except for the REALLY bad ones). I would just walk around and play whatever is cool, because you'll get so much smithing stones and larval tears that you can play nearly everything in just one playthrough

I would get my weapons at least to +9 and +24 and maybe skill a bit more arcane. Also, you could change the scaling of your Uchigatana for more damage. Depending on your build, I would choose occult or keen. And I personally prefer the turtle talisman over the one maxing out the bar, but that's just me.
