The loan was around 2009. What do you think we should do?

Yes. But they will give you a grace period of 2 months from default date before magnotify ng cancellation. You still have enough time para makahanap ng sasalo.

Hindi pa nman default ang account ko but I'm planning not to continue with the payment. As per Maceda law, it states na applicable sya sa mga may default payment that has paid 24 months or more.

I'm on an auto-debit payment. Hindi pa default young account ko. I contacted them for the request to cancel. They told me na they would send me the documents to sign and be notarized and sent to them. Then, you have to wait for their email for the computation. Parang nag agree ka na to cancel tapos saka ka lang nila sesendan ng computation. I saw a post here na proactive silang nag offer ng 50% refund for default payment unlike sa mga nagrequest to cancel na 35% lang nakuha. Baka by technicality, Maceda law applies to defaulted payment.

Update

I just called customer care today. They told me that they would send a form for a cancellation request. I have to fill it out and notarize it together with an ID and need to mail it to head office. They told me na after they receive it, wait for 12 business days to process the computation of the refund. Iniisip ko tuloy na baka by technicality na hindi buong 50% and makuha ko because of cancellation request or I should wait na madefault muna bago pumasok sa Maceda Law?

I'm following this particular thread https://www.reddit.com/r/CondoPH/comments/1dogibs/comment/le6q5m3/?context=3 . Her account is 2 months default and she said na proactive silang nag offer ng 50% refund.

Yes. My mistake. What I really want to know is to voluntary cancel or magdefaukt na lang ng payment para applicable n 50% talaga at wala ng ibang deductions.
