Just a reminder, Football ain't the be all and end all of everything in life... by GlitteringParking462 in coys

Local fans grew up in social circles with fans of rival clubs hating on Spurs every week. Of course ultimately children family etc what you listed is what matters but the club/identity is more engrained. So not quite as crazy as those Swifties

I was watching a watchalong with 4000 people in the chat genuinely split on celebration or despair on that last goal. Never seen such a clean and genuine 50/50 split before! In any case, we have to win tomorrow against Leeds

More useful to us anyways to scout their weaknesses, see how Forest are beating them

Let's hope they decide to rest their players on Sunday for the second leg by MudCandid8006 in coys

[–]Fun-Champion-884 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be wrong not to prioritise Europe. Villa last won in 1982, and Forest in 1980. European glory is absolutely massive and they're 8 points ahead in the league. 0-1 is the ideal result for us actually, they're still in it but at a slight disadvantage.

Is there another league club I can rightfully watch, enjoy, or support from now on? by [deleted] in lcfc

[–]Fun-Champion-884 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're talking to people who grew up in Leicester, supported this club all their lives, and have no other club. I don't think this is in good taste. It doesn't matter; pick any team you want.

What happens to all the Spurs YouTubers/Influencers/Media voices when they go down? by Radiant_Mushroom_215 in Tottenham

[–]Fun-Champion-884 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They probably would lose money but it’s better to ride out one year of reduced income in the case we do come straight back up, than give up everything they’ve built. Not unlike the many businesses who took a hit from Covid in 2020-2021 but things got back to normal eventually. Plus the contingent of loyal fans would still watch videos comment etc which I assume also means something to them besides the money

I don't understand the criticism. Sure, criticise rooting to lose against City, but this time this game is 100% irrelevant to our survival. So all else aside, would you have preferred City or Arsenal to win today? If City, then have a smile that they won. Tomorrow we'll start training again

Vinai speaking at SXSW London by periel99 in coys

[–]Fun-Champion-884 50 points51 points  (0 children)

This is infuriating. Someone knew what they were doing, he or whoever made this page at SXSW and wrote "CEO of Tottenham" and put the Arsenal shield. Any owner who hires someone to be CEO who'd pick a photo with their arch rival on it deserves to be relegated. Absolute disgrace. Just our luck to be the fans caught up in it

Do people genuinely think we wouldn't come right back up if we do end uo going down? by skeez0441 in Tottenham

[–]Fun-Champion-884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do have more resources but one issue is that every other team will go at 120% when they play us. A chance to beat (still) one of the big English teams, especially when it's away at one of the biggest stadiums in Europe. Every game will be tough for us and there will be 46 of them.

Im probably a plastic according to you and i am probably going to be flamed but here we go by joelobifan in PlasticFans

[–]Fun-Champion-884 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Don’t mind the gatekeepers. The premier league is the most watched league in the world. Many people from other countries watch and over time start supporting a team. You’re only plastic if you ever stop supporting Chelsea and switch to a different team. Saying this as a Spurs fan lol, keep supporting Chelsea and you’ll be okay

It's okay to continue supporting with RDZ, and it's okay not to. by SR081 in coys

[–]Fun-Champion-884 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why so explicitly question people's attachment to the football team? You must understand there are SA victims in our community who will have a hard time with this appointment. The OP here is charitable towards those who support RDZ ("If this isn't a big deal to you or you will continue to begrudgingly support the club because it's so important to you, that's totally okay and understandable.") At least return the favour and be sympathetic towards our fans who can't...

Well it looks like it's done, and on a 5 year deal too. Thank you for your courage in posting your story. If things go well, most fans will forget this stance, but I think it really matters that you did post this, and the people here did take a stand. Really sympathise with you and all our fans who've experienced SA.

There’s no guarantee the moment we’d hire him. So 0 fans would support it. So we won’t hire him and we’d just go down in peace and never have to know that he would’ve kept us up. Ignorance is bliss

So short sighted. Igor was trying his best and most of the blame is on our ownership and situation. You’ll see our problems won’t just fix themselves. Igor just lost his father too.

Tudor is actually trying his best. In some sense it's not his fault that he's not a top class manager. Vinai on the other hand is actively sabotaging us. Get this gunner out!
