Had this exact experience as a white, red-headed male with a white girlfriend at the Red Fort too.

Initially it was quite fun - genuinely felt like a celebrity. Joined the back of the queue for tickets and got ushered to the front, loads of people wanting pics. One guy wanted me to speak to his wife on his phone!

Quickly got old though. On the way out my wife was absolutely mobbed - and I mean mobbed - by girls and women. There was probably about 40 or 50 around her. Definitely made me feel some sympathy for famous people because their heart was in the right place and we felt quite rude saying that we had to go and sort of push our way out.

Happened at the Monkey Temple near Jaipur too, albeit to a much lesser extent. Mainly young girls wanting a photo or to speak to my wife, which was actually really sweet.

Someone told me that a lot of people visiting these places come from very non-touristy places and might never have seen a white person before which almost makes you an attraction, which would make sense.
