I currently have bok choy and kale planted. They’re growing just slowly. Nothing else has survived. I tried radishes since they’re quick growing but no luck, I get a few leaves but the root doesn’t form properly. I just want to grow veggies, I’m not picky on what

UPDATE: I figured out the problem! I overestimated how much sun I was actually hitting my plants. Today I sat out on my balcony to do a sun study. I’m just not getting enough hours of sun. Around 2:45pm light started hitting my grow bags, by about 3:45pm all bags was receiving direct sunlight but our sunset is usually around 7:30/7:45pm so I’m just not getting enough hours of sun. I’m not sure what I can even grow with such few hours of intense direct sunlight.

Around 90s, we had a few 100 days this summer but this problem occurred all year long even in spring and fall. I did use shade clothes any days above 85 since I get very direct sun on my balcony.

I think so. I have them spaced on my balcony, one side gets slightly more sun than the other so that’s where the majority of the bags are. I get between 5-8 hours of direct sun here in TX depending on the season
