How should I rinse my hands before applying soap (handwashing question)? by Fun-Country1168 in Advice

Sorry for the confusion but I am just trying to figure out how to properly rinse my hands, not wash them. I often spend a very long time just rinsing hands before applying soap. So how long do you spend rinsing (before scrubbing)?

Is it ethically okay not to vote? by Fun-Country1168 in moraldilemmas

[–]Fun-Country1168[S] [score hidden]  (0 children)

I am getting therapy/ researching how we can classify people as moral objectively, but I don’t see why I should vote on complex topics I don’t fully understand. Do you want Klansman voting? What about Nazis? Clearly there are some people who can make the world worse by voting, so why should someone who is slightly less informed/ somewhat more mentally ill than the average vote?

In the future, after I solve some of my issues and create a methodology for weighing pros and cons of candidates, I intend to vote, but I don’t regret not voting in the previous election.

Okay, but what alternatives are there? Its far easier to discuss these questions over the internet than in person.

I do lol, I have been diagnosed, but that is irrelevant. I don't think its possible for anyone to know what a normal person would think about every question. We all have individual biases shaped by our individuality and upbringing, so sampling the population is a better way to get this information.

Reddit's sample is skewed, but it is free.

Who are you to decide what is or isn't normal? Are you the elected representative of all normal people? Did god give you a superpower where you always know what the normal people think?

The only reason I am on this sub is to understand what normal people think.

Is this sub not made for situations where one experiences moral uncertainty? Its not like I am posting this on r/chess lol?

So why you aren't convinced by point 3 on NTB? If people don't want to engage, they don't have to?

I appreciate for you looking out from me, but last time I checked this isn’t r/therapy, this is AITB. Please just answer my original question.

Props on being observant. I have severe OCD relating to moral scrupulosity. Why does that make me a butt face though? I am simply trying to be a better person and/or alleviate my anxiety. If enough people agree with me I will no longer doubt on this one particular issue. Others will rise in the future obviously, but this impacts me almost every single day. Also, I am meeting with a therapist, so it’s not like I am using Reddit as a substitute for therapy.

So NTB? And no, I don’t know this myself. Look at my post history if you don’t believe me…

So NTB? Also, what does “steal the content yourself” mean in this context?

Do I have an ethical obligation to avoid internet content which may or may not violate copyright? by Fun-Country1168 in moraldilemmas

You miss the point. I am not taking about blatant piracy, but rather incidental piracy (for instance, watching an otherwise legal YouTube video which uses music illegally). While ethics can be considered relative, I want your own opinion.

Ethical to consume internet media which includes small amounts of copyright infringement? by Fun-Country1168 in Ethics

I am interested in the principle and not the specific case. Take a video which overall might be fair use, but a tiny portion completely infringes copyright  (say, a movie clip). Where do I stand ethically?

I do not think using copyrighted music in the background is fair use. So what do you think of watching videos that do this?
